Electrical Water Pageant at the Contemporary and Ca Grill reservation

We have 9:20pm reservations at the California Grill in order to watch Wishes, which is supposed to be at 10pm that day. Would we be able to watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the Contemporary as well? What would the timing be and how far/where would we have to go to see it? Disney says "in instances when Wishes Nighttime Spectacular takes place at 10:00 PM, the Electrical Water Pageant will begin shortly following its conclusion". So if it normally starts at 9 and doesn't get to the Contemporary until 10:10, does that mean it won't get there until 11:10 that day? Or does that mean it stops at the Contemporary until Wishes is done, and then starts again after? Thanks!

1. Yes.
2. Maybe about 10:10 or 10:15.
3. It plays just to the east of the long boat dock behind the Contemporary.

4. That's really meaningless, as the EWP will have been running at the Poly and GF already.
5. They don't delay the start of the EWP by an hour.
6. No.
7. Sometimes, yes.
Sometimes the EWP will just run during Wishes. (Hope for the delay.)

All of that said, you must be outdoors to hear the music (which is so vital to the EWP,)
and the EWP will be much better seen from the dock area of the CP rather than from anywhere
else at CR.

I would focus on Wishes and not worry about EWP - it's cute and but not really an event like the other night time shows. It seems to just drive laps around the lake in the evenings, so if you're hanging around the general Magic Kingdom you'll most likely see it. We had dinner at Cali Grill last week and IIRC correctly we could see the water pageant. Honestly, Wishes and dinner at Cali Grill are two pretty awesome Disney treats, so I would focus my attention on them and leave seeing EWP up to fate.

Electrical Water Pageant

The words conjure some phantasmagorical display of
dazzling lightning-like high voltage interplay with glittering aquatic delights, no?

Well...
My favorite saying about these kind of "simple" things comes from Hawkeye Pierce on the old M*A*S*H TV show.
"It's not much, but it's really nothing."

Although I never miss a chance to see it... inappropriate "over-anticipation"
can be built up over the "Electrical Water Pageant".

People seem to be expecting to see "Main Street Electrical Parade on the water", when it is really closer to oversized "Lite Brite" pegs mounted on some barges,

with a "Casio Keyboard" music track.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, and it's a piece of WDW History, but first-timers, please don't get your hopes set too HIGH.

100% this. I honestly didn't even realize it had music - I guess I've always been too far away to notice. It's charming. It never ceases to make me laugh. It's nice that they do it, because they could just as easily not. But I would not make a special appointment to view it.

Thanks everyone! That's really helpful knowing that it's not a huge attraction. I won't plan on running across the hotel to catch it then. Makes scheduling so much easier.
