I've seen a few threads about the fireworks show and Fantastic ( what is this one?) But I have a question about the the electrical parade and fireworks show. We plan on attending the EP on Friday, Feb 15th it starts at 8:45pm in CAP and then the fireworks show (rdct) starts at 9:25pm in DL. A) Do we have time after the parade to make it to DL for the show or B) Is there a good spot from CAP to watch or outside of DL? Any ideas or a great route plan on where to sit etc.. to see both shows. I would like to use our premium seating from our Disney visa for the EP. It will be myself, husband and the 2 year old, I think for the parades we will leave his stroller at the hotel and put him on our shoulders to beat the crowds if needed.

Thanks a bunch!

See this thread from yesterday which discusses it: www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1699269. Specifically look at post #8.

Just so you are aware, Disney has purposefully chosen the times of the DEP and RDCT fireworks to make seeing both on the same night very difficult. And of the two, the RDCT is much better IMO. Further, if you do not see RDCT from inside DL somewhere near the hub you will be miss about 90% of the show. It is much more than a fireworks show, with lasers and special effects that can only be seen in DL.

Out of the two which one would you suggest to go to for a 2 year old?

If you only do one? With a 2 year old? ELP, hands down, absolutely. No question in my mind whatsoever.

I just saw it on Friday. :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc First time seeing it since I was a child. Let's throw another one out...:lovestruc

I followed opinions found here (I think dangermouse helped with the place to watch it from). Watched it from almost where it starts, near Jumping Jellyfish. Seems counterintuitive, doesn't it? :) So you watch it all from there, then it's done for you while it's still on its way to tSunshine Plaza.

Once it's done, walk purposely on the pathways towards Golden Dreams, turn left towards Grizzly, turn left to go by Grizz with GCH on your left (do NOT turn right at the waterwheel or you'll just be shunted back over to Grizz, LOL...saw so many making that mistake!), and then make your way past Soarin', and you'll be out the gates of DCA before Sunshine Plaza has seen most of the show. Depending on the crowds also doing that, of course.

Did I do htat part? No, I dawdled and walked in the street behind the parade until I turned left at the theater place. So I was slower, and the parade was about 3/4 done at Sunshine Plaza as I was leaving.

I didn't get a prime spot for the fireworks, but that's only b/c I met a "celebrity" cast member and he did his famed routines for me and we chatted for about 20 minutes, so I just watched the fireworks from behind a tree (which in winter was bare so it was fine).

I do want to throw somethin' out. Don't put your kid on your shoulders for a parade or the fireworks. Please? Just hold him on your hip and he'll see about what you can see, and you won't be making those behind you have murderous thoughts towards you. I have a 3 year old and I won't do the shoulder thing...he sits on my hip or in the Ergo on my back, and sees just what we see. And we're not blocking anyone else's view. Please. :)

I will also say that seeing the fireworks from back at IASW is a wonderful experience. And they let you sit down, instead of standing like you have to do near the castle.

Molly, actually, if you turn right at the water wheel (and do not go past Redwood Creek Play Area), it's a short cut, with less crowds, and you will come out at GRR (by the lockers) and then turn right to head out of Condor Flats area toward Sunshine Plaza.

Did you get to see Maynard? I'm so jealous! :lovestruc

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think they'll be using IASW for projections during RDCT while it's being refurbed. I saw pics of all the walls up in front, and don't see how they could still do the show. :confused3

Thanks for that info!

I was meaning to say that we would put him on our shoulders to get through the crowds quicker instead of having the stroller to make it to the next event. During the fireworks he would be on our laps or holding him on the hip.
