Electric skillet in studio

I drove, brought one, but didn't use it. Used my small George foreman grill instead. I see no reason why the electric skillet wouldn't have worked, just wasn't as interested in doing as much cooking as I thought!

Bobbo:)

I have brought one before and it works fine for what I wanted...scrambled eggs, pancakes, skillet caserole, taco meat and grilled cheese.

Many timeshare ban them just like they do portable grills. We had this discussion recently somewhere around here.

Do the studios have an exhaust fan? If not didn't it stink up the room. :confused3

A/C will suck out any smell. We plan on making pancakes and snassage on our trip in two weeks.

We've also taken a slow cooker for evening meals, but, that was at HHI.

No smell or leaving plugged in while unattended. Scrambled eggs in the microwave suck and the electric frypan works in like 60 seconds.

The A/C recycles the air, it doesn't exhaust it. We cooked bacon in our one-bedroom with the stove exhaust fan on and you could smell it down the hall for a couple of days. :snooty:

I bought a small square one and used it simply to make pancakes for breakfast and dinner a number of times. It worked perfectly.

As pointed out, there is no exhaust fan so be very wary of what you cook - pancakes are all I attempted, but no reason why french toast or eggs couldn't be made. Also, common sense, but I don't recommend frying anything, even if you have a deep skillet. The counter space simply isn't built for that sort of use and could be hazardous in a number of ways. Cool and clean up immediately so no damage comes to your skillet or more importantly any passerby's, the counter space is small and things can be knocked.

If you bring one - remember, you'll also need non-stick utensils and a mixing bowl. In our case, I pre-made the pancake batter and packed it in ziplocks. I'm sure airline security scratched their head at 4 large ziplocks filled with white powder until they noted the skillet and recipe tucked inside. ;)

Not an electric skillet but DW has used a Mickey Electric Waffel Maker.

Why not just e-mail member satisfaction and ask them about electric skillets in studios? You can link to their e-mail address on the member website.

We flew and brought one with us. Worked great!! Cooked bacon, pancakes and eggs. Hope that helps.

Yep, I keep one in my Owner's Locker. Cooked tons of different things in it. Have taken a crock pot in the past when we've driven.
