Hoping someone can give us some information. Were headed down to disney in Dec and we will have a sr. in our group. Read where disney rents scooters and also read on another site about local rentals that drop off and pick up from your disney hotel. Would like to hear from anyone thats either rented from disney or used a local company.
Thanks

Every year my cousin rents a scooter (she is from Scotland and uses one back home) while at WDW with no problems for the park that day. She always makes sure she's there at opening as they can go very quickley. I think the price is about $40.00 for the day but don't quote me on that!;)

We rent from Walker Mobility each time. As you've said, they will have your scooter waiting for you when you check in and pick it up after you leave (or whatever dates you choose). It costs about the same as renting from the parks and you'll have it 24/7. We do have our own car though, so we haven't had to get it on a bus....can't tell you anything about that firsthand. The monorail and the boats haven't been a problem so far.

my dad rented from walker as well and they were wonderful. Very accomodating! We too had a rental so it was a bit easier. good luck

Here's some of the scooter info from the thread that Lucky4me posted a link to (thanks, Lucky4me). There is a lot more info there than just this:

Many people prefer to rent from an off-site company for the length of their stay. This is a list of companies that DIS posters commonly report good experiences with. They are in alphabetical order, in categories.
Full Service Medical Companies can rent wheelchairs, ecvs and other medical equipment/supplies.

Companies that Specialize in Mobility devices (chiefly scooters)

* RANDY'S Mobility is in Kissimmee 407-892-4777

* http://www.scootaround.com/ Not much feedback. Several people who reported they had no problems.

Randy's requires that someone be there for delivery and pick up. The rest will deliver to Bell Services and leave it for you.
Actually having someone deliver the equipment there for you has some advantages - you can be shown how it works, how to take it apart (if necessary) and put it back together, you can inspect it before you are stuck with it. Because Randy's delivers the scooter to an actual person, their rates tend to be somewhat less expensive.
