Can anyone recommend any accommodation that can provide an electric profiling (or just height adjustable) bed? Preferably off site due to cost :earsboy:

What a great website! Thanks.

We have a teenager with quad cp who is getting taller by the day. We can manage without a special bed but it is a lot more comfortable for everyone if we can transfer him at the lowest height and then raise him up to dress him etc.

We're still at a very early stage of planning and haven't booked anything yet. I just wondered if there were any resorts that had height adjustable beds in their accessible rooms then that would help us make the decision. Long shot, I know... great to know we can rent one.

I've never heard of any hotel in the USA having an adjustable bed in an accessible room. Do some hotels have this accommodation?

:confused3 can't speak for the USA as I'm from the UK where it's unusual but not unheard of. There are so many hotel rooms in Orlando it seemed like if anywhere in the US would have it it would be there. Maybe one day!

Ah, okay. I asked because Maintenance at OKW once took apart a bed frame and left the box spring & mattress on the floor, at my request. But if course you can't then raise the bed like you need.

Yea, I've had them lower the bed height by taking out the frame or the boxspring. They've done that at WDW and many other hotel chains. That would make the transfer in easier but not do much for the rest.

I have never heard or seen a hotel in the USA having automatic height adjustable beds.

As other posters mentioned, I have heard of hotels removing the bed frame at times to make a bed lower, but that would not help you for dressing. Depending on the style of bed, lowering the height might not be possible because of the construction of the bed.
