That would be news to me! They never have it during the "off season." I believe it comes back for the holidays, although I'm not 100% sure. Then it's dark again until things pick up next year.

It's on the calendar starting Dec. 19th in DCA

It's currently in DCA. It does go away in the off season but it's there in peak season.

It was also there in August when we were last there. We will be going for Thanksgiving and I can let you know if we see it.

It won't be running during Thanksgiving.

The DEP pretty much keeps the same schedule each year. It goes like this:

Runs daily during the peak summer months which start mid-June.

Goes dark the day after Labor Day.

Returns for a 2-3 week run around Christmas peak season (Dec. 19-Jan 4 this year).

Goes dark the day after Christmas peak is over.

Returns and runs daily for Spring Break peak season (2 weeks surrounding Easter).

About 1 week after Easter, the DEP begins playing only on weekends. It continues to run weekends only until Peak Summer season which begins mid-June.

WASH-RINSE-REPEAT.
