Electric parade no more?

It's been a few years since I've been to DLR, 3 actually, and I'm going back in 22 more sleeps. I brought up the calender of events on the Disneyland site for when I go and was so disappointed to see that they weren't featuring the electric parade. When I was there three years ago it was cancelled because of a lightning storm so I have never seen it.
Do any of you know if they no longer have that parade? And could please post some pictures of the electric parade if any of you have some to make me feel a little better.

I *think* I read that it doesn't run in the "off" season. It comes back in the late spring/early summer. It starts off as weekends only. Or at least it has the last three years we have gone in May. I am sure someone on here knows for sure.

Yes, its really a shame because the ELP is such a Disney classic. But it appears to only run in the summer months, going nightly (for the most part)from Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend. I seem to recall they don't even have it during Christmas week and Spring Break now.

They did offer it for 2 or 3 weeks at Christmas time last year. Not sure if they will this year or not.

They also brought it back early last spring, I remember because I was so excited to see it during our (canceled) April trip. There was a rumor that this parade was not going to exist anymore after this year, I don't know if anybody knows? I would love to see it someday...

Well that sucks because I try to avoid summer vacations because I get really grumpy in big crowds. But maybe I'll have to make an exception because like you said it really is a Disney classic.

We saw it 3 or 4 times during our trip which was President's Day week (or whatever you guys call it) 2005.

According to Disneyland's event calendar, the Electrical Parade is scheduled to start Friday, December 15 at DCA and run every night through December 31. The schedule for January isn't up yet, so I don't know if December 31 will be the last night, or if they'll run it on New Year's Day also...but I wouldn't expect it to go beyond that, since that's getting back into off-season again.

Off-season has its good points...and bad points. If people understand that, it will help minimize frustration. Everyone would love for A) the crowds to be low, and B) all of the rides and shows to be available. Unfortunately, you usually cannot have both. I talk about it here: "HydroGuy's High Season/Off Season Tradeoff Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199852

They will be having it this year but it's a day after we leave (Dec 15th at DCA) :sad2: I really wanted to see it because I never have before.

Im sorry to hear your going to miss it. I know how you feel. I was looking forward to it when it came to my trip this past month, but its seasonal. So I never got to see it either.

Were you the one that did there first trip to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago? If so, did you have a good time? I remember being so excited for you when you were getting ready to leave because it reminded me of how excited I'll be when it's time for me to go :yay: :yay:

haha I am actually! Im in the process of writing a trip report. Sorry its taken so long. I loved it so much, that I cried my eyes out as I was leaving the park. Im now going through serious withdrawl, and have started saving for my next trip which will be at the end of May 07. Im getting so excited I cant stand it.

I can imagine how excited your getting? Is stress cause you want it to be here NOW! But its half the excitement.

well actually.... my job (I teach) and going to school is what is stressing me out now and the fact that it's still 43 days away. I felt the same way when we had to leave I did cry on the way to the airport not a ton, but I didn't want to come home at all or go back to work :guilty: and H just said "it's okay honey we'll be back soon" It sounds longer when I say we have 43 more days to go so I'll just say it's 4 more weeks away and that way it makes me and H a lot more excited. 9 whole days with the mouse (Dec 6th-15th) and one day at Universal Studios  I have the whole day planned out as far as what time I will be getting up(2:30am) and ect... but not the whole trip because that's no fun. we just do what-ever comes to mind. When I get back I'll be booking our next trip for Dec 2007 so we can get it paid off early and have plenty of time to save for spending money. probably around the same time but this time I'm going to book it so we can see the Electric Parade. Okay I'm not so stressed anymore I'm getting excited again :jumping1: can't wait to read your trip report :sunny:

Thanks everyone for letting me know. Too bad my timing is off but it doesn't really matter I'm going to have a great time anyway especially since fantasmic will still be going and all my favorite rides are going to be up. The matterhorn will be down but I don't really care because I usually get hurt on that one.
