What tyoe of outlets are in the rooms? We have a Cat. 11 on the Wonder and need to have an outlet near the bed for a CPAP machine. Will this be a problem?

In our room with a veranda (Cat. 7?), there were two 110 v. three prong grounded outlets at the desk, one 110 v. outlet at the hair dryer, and a european 220 v. outlet next to the bed. You might consider bring an extension cord.

There is no 110V outlet near the bed (at least not in category 6 or category 10, in my experience.)

On my first Disney Magic cruise, I brought a 3-prong extension cord. I plugged in the extension cord by the television, and routed it across the curtain rod between the halves of the stateroom. The cord then came down to the CPAP on my nightstand. The cord was a nuisance and looked ugly. At least it wasn't on the floor, so nobody tripped on it.

On my second Disney Magic cruise, I brought European-to-American 3-prong plug adapter, which I bought at a local luggage store. (The adapter has the round prongs that are used in France and Germany, not the rectangular prongs that are used in the UK and Ireland.) My Fisher & Paykel CPAP can automatically adjust to 220V or 110V. I moved the bed away from the wall; I unplugged my nightstand lamp, and plugged my CPAP into the 220V plug using the adapter; I pushed the bed back. The only problem was that I no longer had use of my nightstand lamp.

On my next Disney Magic cruise, I'll bring a European 220V power strip which I purchased in France two month ago. I'll be able to plug in the CPAP and the nightstand lamp. No extension cord. No inoperative nightstand lamp. Perfect!

Just two warnings: First, 220V elecricity is more dangerous than 110V electricity, so be careful; make sure all connections are tightly seated and that you never get your hands near the prongs when you're plugging things together. Second, although the stateroom hosts/hostesses do a great job cleaning, their vacuum cleaners do not seem to reach the area where the nighstand lamp plugs are located (normally hidden); under those circumstances, it was still surprisely clean (but not perfect).

Also, others have posted that they've been able to borrow adapters from Guest Services. I don't know if these are just plug adapters (which would only work if your CPAP can handle 220V) or transformer/adapters.

I also have a CPAP machine. I go to guest services borrow an ext. code for a nominal fee, which you get back when you return the cord. It is a long cord and reaches to the desk from the bed in a catgegory 8. No one tripped at night and in the morning I simply put it away in the nightstand so it was not unsightly.

I was recently in Cat. 11 handicap room, 6647. I needed to plug my go-go wheelchair in every night and could not find a plug. There was one on the dresser and could not find another one.

The room steward pointed out to me there is one behind the TV. There wasn't even an extra 110 in the bathroom.

So to be on the safe side, bring your own extension cord so you won't have to get one from guest services.

For the one on the dresser, I either had to have my hair dryer plugged in or my computer and/or Kodak downloader for pics. Only one at the time was allowed.

We borrowed a cord on our first cruise for CPAP. It was huge black thing that was in the way. We now carry our own that is much shorter and has a strip with several plugs on it. Can plug in the CPAP, phone rechargers, etc.

DH also has a CPAP machine which he is bringing along on our Oct cruise. Just wondering...what are you using for water? He was told to use Distilled water for his machine. Our TA called Disney and they do not have distilled water for him. I guess we could use bottled water for a week. Just wondering what the rest of you do.

TIA

For our first cruise, we used a rental car to get to the port, so we just stopped at Publix, where I bought a gallon of distilled water (among other things).

On our second cruise, we used Tiffany Towncar. When Tiffany takes guests to WDW, they provide grocery stops at real grocery stores such as Publix. But, when I made my reservation for a ride from MCO to the port, Tiffany said thay would not stop at a grocery store, only at a convenience store. I was able to make arrangement to stop at the Walgreen's that just north of the airport. I got the distlled water, but this Walgreen's had a poor selection of soft drinks, and they sold no wine.

On our next cruise, I'm using Quicksilver Tours. When I asked Gregory Nicolas if I could arrange a stop at the Publix that just off Bee Line Expressway exit 45, he immediately made it part of my reservation confirmation.

We are taking the Disney transfer to the Port and I don't believe they make any "pit stops" along the way. So, as for us picking up our own Distilled water it is not an option. We are staying at the Hyatt at the Orlando airport on Friday night. Do you think they may be able to supply us some?

Thanks again,
Nancy :teeth:

I really don't think the hotel would have distilled water, nor do I think that any of the gift shops or convenience shops in the airport would have distilled water.

One idea would be to fill a few small drinking water bottles with distilled water at home and to bring them in your carry-on. At one time the TSA balked at water bottles, and it's possible that carrying several unsealed bottles could raise questions about the liquid. But I have a small Dasani bottle that I fill for overnight trips, and I've never had any trouble taking it through Security.

Another thought would be to give a bellman a good tip for making a run to Walgreen's north of the airport for distilled water. (You wouldn't even have to go along.)

In a pinch, I've used bottled drinking water. The problem is that if you let the water chamber in the CPAP run dry, you'll have ugly mineral deposits.
