Does anyone know if the electric cars in Kew West can hold 5--two adults and three children?

We were planning on renting two four seaters; however, my brothers FIL is now joining us on our vacation and we are now 9 instead of 8. We still want to rent the electric cars, but do not want to rent 3 of them.

Any ideas and/or suggestions. Thank you.

The one we rented could only seat four, with seat belts. I do not recall being able to sit three with seat belts.

What was the price to rent one, that would be a fun way to tour Key West, there will be 4 of us.

If you want to just stay in the downtown area, I would suggest that walking is the best way to go, since parking can a problem.

We originally did not rent but after walking a little bit we realized the distance to the Southern most point, so we turned around and rented one for a couple of hours.

I myself have been very disappointed in this company - they promised me without no doubt that by recommending their company and me refusing to accept the 20% of who did use them with my recommendation, that their rate would be "conch rates" - I have had number of folks go to them - tell them I recommended them and to give them the conch rates and they were refused -like DUH we didn't say that --------------------
If you decide to call down there - speak with "Phil" - he is the son of the owner - Norm and I are going down in January and hope to get by to see him or Sandra and find out what is going on - I know they do cut a check out to those that recommend them there in Key West such as hotels, taxis etc - again I refused asking that the benefit go to those going down to mine and Norm's hometown. Will post more as I find out when we get down there ok.

We rented a 4 seater in July from Key West Cruisers and it was really nice. We hadn't planned to do so, we just got off the ship to do it as a lark. I think we had a 4 hour rental and the cost was $80.75 (with tax, etc..) It was a nice way to get around KW. We drove over to the Southernmost point took pictures, then we went to Fort Taylor and took more pictures and we went buy some other interesting beach type place and took more pictures. DH and DSes aren't too interested in shopping, so this was a neat alternative.

It definitely did not have belts for 5. However, I don't see why you couldn't just rent 1 electric car and split the time amongst the family. You could easily do a circle of KW in 30 minutes even with traffic lights. My kids enjoyed it much more than shopping. With kids, I think most of the enjoyment is the goofy little car.

I wish they would have had electric cars to get around when I was a kid there, but of course that was so many years ago when Key West was just a little island with just a wee bit of folks there and the cars were even more scarce - anyhow I agree it is a neat way to get around Key West and it only has belts for 4 - you can get away from the main stream and go sightseeing on your own -
going up and down the different streets is so awesome - go on Angela St that is the highest point in Key West - ride by our famous cemetery, ride around Olivia, Southard Street - you will see a lot of our native plants and flowers - stop and mingle with the locals at 5 Brother's cafe on Southard and Grinnell St. - you will enjoy it and if you need information or maps, I have them and there isn't any strings attached.
