Electric Blankets

We have an electric blanket, but it's a new, low voltage one. My old one scared me since it sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. As far as any health risks, I usually preheat the bed and then leave it on until I get warmed up and then turn it off to actually sleep. It is covered up by other blankets--there are no warnings on my blanket about that.

I love my electric blanket!

You can throw them in the wash. My mother told me that used to not be the case, so yay for modern technology!

My biggest problem is the cats jumping on the control and turning it off in the middle of the night.

Down comforter + Siamese Cats = Never Having To Turn On The Heat!

But then....I live near Atlanta! Still have my A/C on!

you don't.......ACTUALLY believe that, do you? that's like saying cell phones give you cancer.

Taken from the article in the link I posted above.
The lack of a connection between breast cancer risk and electric blankets might seem a bit of a surprise, in light of recent reports about the potential danger of cell-phone use. Some researchers have suggested exposure to the phones might lead to breast cancer.
It might not be such a crazy idea to think that cell phones can give you cancer.

Try an electric mattress pad too. It goes on under the covers and the heat radiates. You can keep the temperature down low on these since they work that way.

Another vote here for a heated mattress pad. DH and I LOVE ours. It has an automatic shut off so you don't have to worry as much about it and I don't have to wear socks or anything to bed. really nice! I think DH's mom got it at JC Penney.
