Dose any one know if the electrical parade will be going on in oct? or would it probley only be dec id find it

I would like to know this also since we are going in mid-September.

From past years' schedules it looks like it only occurs on Saturdays and Sundays which is a bummer since we will be there Tuesday through Friday.

From what I've read, it quits right after Labor Day, and doesn't start up again until close to Christmas.

darn dse any one know if in dec its on weekdays?
my fionces gona make me change days if its only weekends grrr

hum id be there a sunday evening maybe id go in the park just for the prade lol

Ok, here's the DEP annual schedule again (I seem to post this quite often, I ought to keep it handy to copy and paste).

The DEP will stop running completely after Labor Day. It will be dark untl it will be brought back again for peak Christmas season (usually the 2-3 weeks surrounding Christmas). It will then go dark again until Spring Break peak season when it will run daily throughout the month or so that the park deems peak Spring Break period. It will then run weekends only through the rest of spring until peak Summer period hits around mid-June, when it will begin running daily again. It will then go to weekends only around mid-August and then go dark again the day after Labor Day, completing the cycle.

Sorry Jade, you won't see it running at all in October.

HTH.

DM,

What you wrote about the DEP schedule is true for 2007, but the DEP schedule has been different in 2008. So far this year, in Jan, Feb, Mar, and Apr, the DEP has been shown on Fri-Sat-Sun. At least that's what the LaughingPlace calendars say.

I don't know if the apparent changes to this year's DEP schedule in Jan and Feb will translate to Fri-Sat-Sun shows next Sept or Oct, but... maybe? :wizard:

HTH :earsboy:

The reason the traditional DEP schedule was altered early this year is due to the fact that the Block Party Bash parade left early in January, and they needed an interim parade at DCA while they worked on getting the new Pixar Play Parade up and running. Pixar Play began running right around peak Spring Break period, and as tradition stood, the DEP would be running on weekends during this time anyway. So the only real change is that they kept the DEP running on weekends only through Jan, Feb and Mar. And now that they have a new parade in DCA, they will keep it running as the only off-season parade in the fall.

ok thank you i will have to see if it will run daliy on the dec time or weekend only if so i will have to go the day we get there just for that parade

Jade, my guess is that it will start running daily beginning Dec 19 through Jan 4. Hope that works with your travel dates.

oh no i get there the 12th and leave the 19th lol i had heard befor it started in the secoudn week dec lol

Thank you for explaining those changes to the DEP schedule!

A cast member told me that the DEP was going to be shipped off to WDW soon and DCA would get a new nighttime parade--no timing given.

thats an old old rumor... The current DEP rumor is that its going back onto Main Street USA with 1-2 new floats such as a new Fairy at the beginning of the parade.

Thank you for that great news Albort!! I miss seeing the DEP! It reminds me of seeing it when I was a child! Do you know when this will happen?

Any rumored idea as to when it might go back to Main Street?

That is wonderful news--this is my favorite parade.

Corpsebride--you do know the DEP runs currently at DCA?

Al Lutz is the one that reported the rumor about the DEP moving back to DL in his "Hello/Goodbye" article a couple weeks ago. It's all a part of the Ed Grier's marketing plan (who knows if it will actually happen) to highlight entertainment at DLR. The article says the DEP will be at DL starting in Spring '09 and run through Christmas '09. If they replace the Blue Fairy at the beginning with someone other fairy, it will be just WRONG.
