Does anyone when & if El Pirata is open? I was looking @ pics on here & they have yummy looking tacos. But never seem to look open when we are there. Seems like it would be a popular stop if it was ever open.

They changed the name to Tortuga Tavern, so if you're searching for threads from earlier this year, you're looking under the wrong name.

I posted about how I hated the beef burito. It was all bean glop. Very unappetizing, and it did not taste good.

Oh I wonder if this is the same place I'm thinking? I thought it was behind pecos Bills near Pirates of the CArib. Is this the same place? Is it ever open & does anyone like? I'll search that new name thank you Best!

Yes Cafe Tortuga is the new name and its right by POTC. We ate there in Feb for lunch and all the adults in our group concurred for the $$ best deal in MK. Is it the best Mexican I have ever had, um no, but for the $$ you get alot of food and its good I think. I have had a burrito there and a taco salad.

We always go in July and it is always open when we are there. I LOVE the taco salad. You can make a wonderful meal with the make your own toppings bar. I love adding a lot of tomatoes, etc and having a meal that isn't all fried.

We think alike! I always do extra tomatoes!! & I agree it's nice to have fresh veggies instead of all fried. I feel like a slug if I eat too much fried.

We were there in March. We all liked our food. Nachos, taco salad and cheese quesadilla. We go to WDW every Nov. but have never seen it open. Maybe since the name change they will open it more often!

Does anyone know if you can get salad dressing for your taco salad?

We ate here before the name change & it was very good. The salad was a little dry though, could have really used some dressing.

I LOVE this place. I always get the bean tacos, and sometimes the quesadilla. It was open when I went in early January for the first few days of the trip, then closed. We are going end of May/early June and I anticipate it will be open the late May days. It tends to be open when the parks are more crowded and closed in the quieter seasons.

We've eaten there on our past two trips (both during the summer months, so maybe it is seasonal) but I have always seen it open. Its my absolute favorite CS meal!!!
