Will this place be open in December? I thought I remember seeing where it is open seasonal, Is this true?? What is this place like, is it good food.

This place is open seasonally, but every trip we have made it has been open. It is sort of like a Taco Bell, a little better IMHO. I think the CS Mexican place in EPCOT is a lot better, however.

We go here simply because it is a tradition for us. We have pics of every trip eating a taco at this place. Started a long time ago, so we just keep it up. LOL It is worth a trip for us too, since most of our party does not eat ethnic food and it gives us a chance to get something different then burgers and fries.

This will be the first trip we take that it might not be open. We'll still take a pic there tho and just pretend to eat a taco. LOL

Well when I called to make a few ps this morning after I posted this thread, I asked if they knew if it would be open Dec 5-9 and he said no. I was trying to pick places we have not eaten at before even counter service for a change. And this place sounded great because it was not the regular Hamburger, pizza hotdog if you know what I mean.
:(

I noticed on our map back in September (yes, things change since then I know) that El Pirata Y El Perico Restaurante was open...yah! So we walk over...and it's closed.

I look at the map again...it was only opened on SATURDAYS back then.

I hope this place is open more in December too...DH and I like to ride POTC and then head over here for lunch! :)

The last few times we've been to the World, it's been closed! I really like this place. The food is good, it's a nice cool relaxing place to eat and rest. I wish they'd open it again, as there's not that many places in MK I like to eat!

Yes I agree, why don't they close a burger and chicken finger place down during off season and leave it open for variety?? Thats what I am trying to do is pick different places with a little bit of change. We can't eat at a sit down for every meal. Went for 10 nights in July and the french fries and chicken fingers were starting to get to me.

We were at WDW from the 5th-13th and hit MK every other day or so, for at least a few hours. The restaurant was closed the entire week+ we were there.

In addition, my sons and I (being the curious type and really wanting to try The Pirate and the Parrot) snuck up and took a good long look inside, and there wasn't a scrap of food or cooking utensil around. It looked like it had been completely cleaned out behind the counter where they prepare the food. We knew right then that we weren't going to get to try it this trip.

Still bummed about that one...

I'm with you msspinshady
I know it is just counter service place and no big deal in the play of things. but really wanted to try them.

I did the KTTK tour in October and could have sworn the guide said it was closing for good.

If anyone is down there, maybe they can check it out to confirm.

I really loved their tacos!

Terri

This was one of my favorites places to eat in the MK. The tacos were delicious. It has been closed for quite awhile.

We were there the week of Nov 13-20. It was closed all week then as well. Very disappointing. It is a tradition for us to eat there after POTC for lunch.

However, went to Columbia Harbour House instead and found it to be a very nice surprise. Great sandwiches.

Yes we love Columbia Harbour House ! Ate there twice on our last trip. The tuna sandwich was great , a nice change from Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Chicken tenders. That is why I am kind of disappointed, the Tacos and Taco salad would have been a nice change.

Oh, no!!! I am not a fan of counter service at all and that is the only place I will eat at MK! For us, too, it is a tradition. We time it so that we ride POTC right around lunch time and then have tacos afterwards. MK will not be the same!!!

You know, it's really bizzarre that the closing of a rather ordinary taco stand can elicit such angst from me....only at WDW. It's just that, as strange as it sounds, that place holds a lot of fond memories for me. I hope they do not close it down!

When I called and talked to dinning they said it is seasonal. Summer months only.
