El Pirata y el Perico-never open anymore!

Yes, I know the mexican fast food served here is not over the top culinary perfection, but we've always enjoyed the change of pace while at MK. In recent trips in April and last week, it was closed the entire visit. Anyone have the inside scoop on Disney's plans for this Adventureland dining option?

I'm not sure, but it was open when we were there about a week ago. I think we were there on Saturday (10/23), and it was definitely a 'hoppin' joint...

Sorry to not be of more help, but just wanted to let you know it was open then... but not other times on our trip.

Maybe you could call and find out if they have a schedule...we like to eat there and except for this MNSSHP trip they have been open everytime we have been over there this year (2004), we ususally hit MK on Sunday's if we are only going to Orlando for the day but when we stay overnight we go on different days.


Now the beavertail place in Epcot is another story - that thing is NEVER open when we are there!

That's funny, we were there on October 23 (evening) and ended up eating at Pecos Bills because Perico was closed. We tried again on several occasions throughout the week...no luck!

I'm pretty sure they are only open for lunch. During slower periods, they seem to be open only on weekends.

We walked by there on Friday 10/29 and it was closed. Perhaps it is open on the weekends?

We, too, miss grabbing a bite here - we were at WDW 9/15 - 9/27/04 & never saw it open. I'm betting it won't be open at all in January when we return. We're going to plan for something else & be pleasantly surprised if we find it open!

It was open in June when we were there (weekdays). Maybe it's gone on Disney's definition of 'seasonal opening'?

I was super excited to eat there again, though, since it hadn't been open the last 5 or so times I was there. Ok, so I'm easily amused.

I eat there whenever it is open and I too noticed that it wwas not always open. I did not notice a differewnce in week day or weekend. It was open in June 2003 but noit in Aug 2002 or July 2004. It is listed by Disney asa seasonal restaurant but there seems to be no consistency to the season.

That's funny - we encountered the same problem on our recent trip (10/08-10/15). DH and I tried several days and it was closed - then on our last day 10/15, we walked by and I happened to notice that it was open however we had just finished eating our lunch - LOL Oh well, maybe next year.
