This isn't exactly a Disneyland question, but it seems this might be the better place to ask...

Is there any way to find out/guess what will be at the El Capitan for a date that's after the announced dates? Do they ever extend the run of a current show?

Brave is currently scheduled to go until August 12. Of course, we were looking at being there on August 13 (or August 19). I'd be curious to know if there's a chance Brave will be extended for another few days, if there's a good guess at what would be showing next, or if they might be more likely to have nothing for a few days before the next one starts.

This is a pure guess on my part, but I base it on the following actual movie schedules that have shown at El Capitan in years past. In each of the following years, I was down at Disneyland during the 1/2 Marathon weekend and made a trip to El Capitan to see the films in question.

In 2008, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Sleeping Beauty and upcoming blu-ray/DVD release, the El Capitan showed Sleeping Beauty for something like 2 weeks in late August/early September. Based on my photos from the event, opening day was Thursday August 28, 2008. I believe WALL-E was playing the day before.

Last year, in anticipation of the Beauty and the Beast blu-ray 3-D home release, they showed that for 2 weeks around the same time period and followed it with The Lion King 3-D just weeks before that movie's blu-ray release. The first day Beauty and the Beast showed at El Capitan was Friday September 1, 2011. These screenings were in addition to the January 2012 3-D screenings of Beauty and the Beast at El Capitan.

This year's fall blu-ray release is Cinderella and we know that Finding Nemo is being released in 3-D in September. My guess is that sometime in late August/early September they'll show Cinderella and mid September will feature Finding Nemo.

If I were to hazard a guess for after August 12, I'd guess "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" will run until late August/early September assuming that they'll show Cinderella there.

As a side note, the El Capitan experience is a lot of fun. It's great seeing an old Hollywood movie palace and listening to the organist before the film begins. However, it's very expensive to do so. It's $14 for general admission seating and $26 for VIP seating (which does include popcorn, a soda, and an assigned seat). I love the El Capitan experience, but only do it when it's for a movie that's not available for screening at my local theater.

Should be Timothy Green in the last two weeks of August; then Cinderella, Finding Nemo and Frankenweinie.

If not Timothy Green, then The Rescuers. The theatre coordinates with many Disney animated classic Blu Ray releases, usually showing them for a two week engagement.
