El Capitan Theater tips please : )

Our fam will be at DLR from July 22 to July 26. We have a "free day" on the 24th, and have tickets to see Monsters University at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood at 10:00 AM. I'm trying my best to plan travel time to the theater, without missing the famed pre-show. Has anyone done this, and did the pre-show start before the movie start time? Thanks in advance!

The pre-show starts at the scheduled/announced movie start time. So, say you have tickets for the 7 pm show, the pre-show will start shortly after 7 pm. The pre-movie time will also include previews, and, if you are lucky, the organist will be there playing on the Wurlitzer organ before the pre-show starts.
Easiest parking for the El Capitan (IMO) is at the Hollywood & Highland shopping center across the street. Parking is $2.00 for 4 hours with a validation (the validation machine is in front you as you walk through the door at the El Capitan, just next to the concessions counter).
