We arrived at the Marriot around 1.30pm after a thankfully uneventful flight and the usual good service from BS Transport.

We were at the opposite end of the resort from our stay last October and once we’d unpacked we opened the back doors we could see a little stream running past the side of our house. It was very serene. There was a family of ducks which lived here. Although sadly over the course of the week some of the little ducklings seemed to disappear.

We had a arranged to meet a group of friends at POTC for a group ride, followed by a group photo at IASW and dinner at Inventions so we headed off for the park.

I love the feeling when you first enter the park. I just feel like I’m home and so does Jess (DD).

We had time for one quick ride before we met the group so headed of for IASW. There was hardly any queue and we got on in less than 5 minutes for our trip around the world.

It was then time to head to POTC. I was a bit nervous about meeting everyone in person and hoping I would recognise people but I shouldn’t have worried. We met Kaye first who ran up to Kenny and gave him a huge hug :hug and then said she was so glad he was who she thought or she’d have a lot of explaining to do. Kenny found it all a bit strange as lots of people recognised him from photos on the board but he only knew names.

Again POTC had hardly any queue so we were on in less than 5 minutes although I think they were quite surprised to have such a large group ride together. :ghug

Most of us then headed of to IASW for our group photo and then we headed to central plaza to watch the candle celebration.

I loved the enchanted fairytale ceremony when we went in January but It only really works so well because it’s dark. This was a bit of a let –down as when Mickey says ‘and this is the most magical moment of all..’(or words to that effect )and raises his hands nothing seems to happen. Bonnie, Claire, Hazel and I were all peering at the castle looked at each other and shrugged. I wanted to laugh and I’m pretty sure the others did too but we managed to contain our mirth and head over to the Disneyland Hotel.

Hazels’s DH John stopped on the way to rescue some streamers from one of the nearby trees. He is so tall he managed to reach them with no real problem.

The meal at Inventions was lovely. We sat near Mary-Ellen and her family and Bonnie and Claire. However I managed to speak to a few of the rest of the group as we passed each other with our plates at the buffet which was of a very good standard. I did my usual and ate too many starters so hardly ate any main course but of course had room for pudding (in my separate pudding stomach- of course ! :laugh)

Bonnie took these fabulous photo’s of Jess’s interaction with the characters. Thank you so much Bonnie ! :hug

Whilst we were in Inventions it had started to rain and the sky darkened so we were actually able to see the candle lights on the castle which actually are quite pretty !

After dinner we headed through to Café Fantasia where my Mum (Granny Car) and Kenny had an expensive cocktail each (apparently they were the best Black Russian’s ever !) and Jess and I went for a look in the shop. (You know girls and shops there’s kind of a magnetic attraction :rolleyes). Jess quickly found the soft toys and thought through which ones she would taking home (we had agreed one at the beginning and one at the end of the holiday).

Dinner had taken much longer than we thought and our last bus was due so unfortunately we had to leave just as some of the others came through to the bar which was a shame but a good decision as we were all tired and in need of bed. We arranged to meet Mary Ellen the next morning at 11am and told the others we hoped to see them too. We bade farewell to Verity who unfortunately we were not going to see again as she was off home in the morning and headed back to the bus station and the Marriot for a good night's sleep and a soak in the large tub !- Mmmm :cloud
