Eiffel Tower problems!

Thanks for sharing your photos can see the little ones loved the karts :goodvibes

My last trip up was 15 years ago, I practically skipped up the stairs then somehow I don't think that'll be happening again :lmao:

I'm leaning towards at nights I think but can't decide if it'll be mega busy however as you point out if we go first thing it's done then hmmm We'll be going for dinner not too far from the eiffel tower one evening and thought we'd walk it off getting there about 25 mins walk if I recall, I also want to make sure dd and mum get to see the tower lit up close.

hi there

my dh booked our tickets for wed 6th june to the summit and was only able to chose one of 2 time slots, we had wanted to go early morning but this wasnt possible to book so we chose 11.30am as the second option was very late and we have small children.

if they are having problems with their lifts etc does this mean e wont get to go to the top even though we have already booked our tickets? weve never been to paris itself and its our first trip so was really looking forward to it

thanks for any help :)

You'll get to the top if you have booked your tickets so don't worry :goodvibes

It's just taking a lot longer than normal so be prepared to queue even though you are booked.

Just wondering, on the Eiffel Tower website it says you can walk up to the second level with kids being free, does this mean we have to wait in the same long que to buy the adults tickets to walk up?, Also for a little unfit mum How long would it take to walk up? and could you get a lift back down? :wizard::wizard:

It's a different queue depending on wether you take the lift or if you walk.

There are a fair few steps (600 odd) but they are easy to do as there are lots of places to rest and look around you. Plus they are wide enough to pass people or for people to pass you without getting held up.

Once you are at the 2nd level you can buy a ticket to the top level and there you'd take the lift.

You can get the lift back down :goodvibes

ok thats great thanks :)

my youngest daughter will be in her pushchair, do they allow pushchairs up the lifts?

thanks again :)

Thats really good news I thought we were going to have to miss the Tower Due to DH not wanting to que, I am now going to have to icrease my fitness level, so as not to totally embarrass my family! Do you know which pillar we que at? I guess the one with the shorter que!:dumbo::dumbo::dumbo::dumbo: ps sad news....both my daughters 9 & 7 have said they are too old for the Dumbo ride.. looks like i will be doing extra magis hours by myself!:rotfl::rotfl:

I don't know tbh as I've never been up in a lift with small children ... on their site it says

Children

You can take your children to the Eiffel Tower whatever their age !
For safety reasons, only fold up pushchairs are allowed into the Eiffel Tower (this is because other types of pushchairs could block escape routes in the event of the tower having to be evacuated in an emergency).
Please note: we do not have luggage lockers.
Please do not leave your pushchair unattended as it may be considered a suspect item.

The stairs are at the EST pillar :goodvibes

Just a wee tip, the shops in the vicinity of the Eiffel tower were very expensive for food, even the sandwiches and taste aux pommes we bought came to €30. I'd buy elsewhere if travelling around lunchtime. We went up first and had food later and DS was really quite hungry and grumpy as seen in the pictures.

I totally agree with you johnny_boy, when we were there end of july/august last year it was quite a hot day and kids asked for an ice creme, Im going to sound like a right tight person now but by the tower the ice creme seller for a soft ice creme was about 4.50 - 5 euro each!!! we are a family of 5 so i said no but we found a little supermarket in one of the side streets just off from the tower and went in and bought a whole basket full of food including sunny delight, crisps, magnums, and other stuff and only paid less than 10 euro for the lot.

We then went and sat on the grass in the park side of the tower to relax and have a picnic :)
The kids were loving it!

this is the supermarket we found

We are going to Paris in the last week of June. All the slots have been booked. The options are to dine at the pricey restaurants, take the pricey tours with the VIP elevator access, or to climb the stairs. Have I missed any other options?

If I chose to do the early morning wait, when should I queue and do I queue for tickets first? Not sure of the process.

Thanks for the tips guys :thumbsup2

I booked for a 9am slot in the end, we're staying near Madeleine so plan on
picking up something yummy for breakfast en route.

Can't answer gmark's question but will report back how the early slot works out :goodvibes
