eGift cards at restaurants?

I have a couple of Disney e-gift cards that I'd like to use towards food on an upcoming trip. Does anyone have experience using these at restaurants and is it an easy process? They have scannable bar codes.

I used mine at sci-fi diner last week. They took my phone to the register to scan it.

You could always pick up a low $ amount physical gift card and transfer the balance of the e-gift cards to that using Disneygiftcard.com, if you’d rather not hand off your phone to the server

I have used them...mine was printed on paper that I just gave to my server like any form of payment

Or if you are staying on property and have a credit card linked to your magic band, pay for it with your band then have the resort apply the gift card to your balance.
