My family loves eggnog. We drink it by the gallons.

We have a family friend who bottles his own. I think it's mostly whiskey...with a splash of eggnog.

That's gotta be the BEST egg nog!

I can't stand it..can't stand the taste OR the smell. It makes me want to gag.

DH however..LOVES the stuff. Goes to Braum's and buys several gallons of their holiday eggnog ice cream every year on Black Friday on his way home from work. Buys 2-3 cartons of the liquid eggnog every week from Thanksgiving until they quit selling it because he drinks it from a BIG ol honking glass.

I love egg nog and boiled custard. Their appearance in the dairy section is one of the things that tells me it's almost Christmas. Although this year, I saw some back in October - that's way too early.

I did try to make boiled custard but let the eggs scramble -- I love scrambled eggs but sweetened scrambled eggs....

Hmmmmm. Who knows, you may have created a new Holiday favorite...Eggs Nogged ala Debbieandroo?

Love it- but it has to be homemade with real cream, whole milk, vanilla, sugar, fresh eggs, whiskey, and rum. Real nutmeg from Grenada or India tops it off!

Advocaat (or advokatt) is a rich and creamy liqueur made from eggs, sugar and brandy. It has a smooth taste that is fairly similar to almonds. In English-speaking countries it generally contains 15% alcohol (30 proof), but in Continental Europe the typical alcohol content differs from country to country and is generally somewhere between 14% and 20% ABV. Its contents may be a blend of egg yolks, aromatic spirits, sugar or honey, brandy, vanilla and sometimes cream (or evaporated milk). Famous makers of advocaat include Warners, Bols, Verpoorten, Warninks, Cooymans and De Kuyper.

I don't agree that this tastes like almonds because I don't much like almonds but I love this stuff!

Can you really freeze it?? And it tastes okay? I would love to do that because once the holidays are over all you can find is the canned stuff and I don't like to make it from scratch.. Please - do tell!

Oh goodness yes -- it turns out perfect! Just thaw in the fridge and you're good to go. My eggnog-loving family did this every year when I was growing up.

Revolting. Even worse is the signs on all the coffee places advertising egg nog lattes. What a horrible thing to do to perfectly good coffee.
