I have recently been having issues with eggs and have been advised to just eliminate them from my diet, so I'm trying to determine what that means for our WDW trip. It's so crowded when we go, and we are only going to eat counter service and possibly a breakfast buffet. Therefore, I'd like to know ahead of time which Disney staples are egg free. Hamburger buns, pancakes, Mickey waffles, baked goods, etc... Does anyone have experience with egg-avoidance while in the parks. I don't want to be that person who holds up a line of people while I ask! Thank you!!

Yes, my DGD was allergic to dairy and eggs. We found that WDW to be the safest place for her to eat. I suggest that you post on the DISabiliities forum. Those folks have the most up to date information for you and will be happy to help.

Thank you! Does a Mod need to move this, or do I just repost the same question over there? Thanks again!

I would just add a new post on that forum. My DD got so much help from the people who hang out there. Kady is allergy free now, but I can still remember that first waffle at the CBR food court! I called my husband in tears, because he had always taken her to breakfast every week, just the two of them, and all of a sudden, she could not have any of the foods she loved. WWDW is wonderful in terms of keeping people safe.

I did, thanks so much! It is really hard to think about all the things I love that won't be an option now, and thinking about breakfast options is frustrating!

Just inform the CM at the check in counter (TS) or the CM at ordering (CS) of your food allergy. They will send a chef or a manager to assist you. WDW is absolutely the best in handling food allergies.

Of the foods you mention, the baked goods are not safe. No to pancakes. However, you can ask for allergy friendly waffles. Anywhere that sells Mickey Waffles will likely have these. They are egg free and very good! Hamburger buns are fine. I would reconsider CS and book more TS, only because the chefs are amazing. CS can be complicated to speak with a manager, look over ingredient binders, and wait longer for your special meal to come out. Trails End is worth a trip for Chef TJ!

Thanks so much for the info! Our issue with TS in the summer is that we're always so hot and don't feel like eating big meals. That's why I wanted to try to do some research beforehand. Skipping the breakfast TS seems like the best idea, but my husband is a breakfast fanatic and I'd hate for him to miss out because of me :love2:

Also...

Would I be correct in assuming that anything breaded/battered has egg? Chicken nuggets/tenders, fish, etc...?

Typically, yes. I have read that Raglan Rd, and Rose and crown may have an allergy friendly fish and chips. No personal experience there... It may be gluten free NOT egg free. My DD is allergic to chicken, as well, so no idea on the chicken! You will find Disney easier than eating other places, at least!

Very true! Thank you!

We were able to get pancakes at CBR. The mix is the same, it is actually Bobs Red Mill Gluten Free pancake and waffle mix. We were told that we could ask, but that because it takes time we should expect a short wait.

Kady had dairy plus egg allergy, and there was nothing on the childrens menu that was safe for her. The Chech offered to make any safe adult option a child sized portion for her. Now Cape May had some options for her, btu the Chef could not find any desserts he was comfortable letting her have. That kind man sccoured the Beach Club restaurants to find an assortment of treats that a little girl could not only safely eat, but would enjoy as well. I will happily spend my vacation dollars in a place that invests so much energy and time into ensuring that whenever possible, people who have food allergies can have safe food. Kady is able to eat what she wants now, but I will always remember how kind everyone was to her.

Incidentally, the other day my son told me that he works with a chef who worked at Rose and Crown, and thinks she is the same Chef who made a child sized pork chop for a hungry little girl.

That is so sweet! Hopefully they'll have the same mercy for a sweet adult with the same limitations

DD has celiacs and is allergic eggs & dairy. We were able to order chicken tenders at most CS and at the Crystal Palace on our last trip.

I wanted to post a few things I found after speaking to chefs at a couple bakeries. Of course, please double check yourself just to be certain, but I found the following items that did not have eggs:

Sunshine Seasons bakery - she said the only item was the coconut macaron- sugar, coconut, and heavy cream. It also had chocolate chips in it.

France bakery - the only two items without eggs are the chocolate mousse and the fruit parfait
