We had some wondering about how official the price per point increase was for Dec 2, I just got a letter announcing it from DVC.....some dude named Tom Jenkins, it says he's my vacation guide, well whadda ya know, I do have one.

Edit: Oooops, it says Effective Dec 1, 2002

$80.00 to $84.00 per Vacation Point.

If you are considering adding on, don't forget to ask about the special Disney's Vero Beack Vacation Resort MAGICAL BEGININGS down payment credit offer. It is quickly becoming a favorite among Members....NOT!!!!

This is how I read that line.....

Remember, we can't even give these dard points away with breakfast at Olivia's, we have tried several times and even tried some more creative stuff. We are already taking a hit with the MB, we can't drop the price far enough to sell them because of the other DVC resorts that are still for sale.....please help us out and take some of these stinkin points off our hands

Rich - remember some of us really like Vero Beach and do stay there and enjoy it, rather than hoping to use the points to reserve at Orlando. ;) We also have points at BWV. I know no place is as good as OKW, but some of us think it's still pretty darn nice.

Glad you now know your guide's name. My email had a signature from Byron Hegeson. I haven't talked to or heard from him in about two years. Glad I'm not lost in the woods waiting for him to guide me out.

I second that Cap, and If Rich ever booked the Beach Cottage at VB, maybe he would even buy some pts at VB also.

Hey, I say all the time that VB is a great resort, seriously, one of the best on the world.

That doesn't change the fact that it has been a horrible failure for Disney.

The poor sales have resulted in the resort only being a shadow of its original plan, the lack on interest in VB has made VB always have the most generous MB plan.

The awful sales at VB combined with the complete lack of interest for off wdw DVC resorts forced Disney to divest themselves of properties destined to become DVC resorts. We actually had one announcement, but the poor, lackluster, slow sales at VB and HH completely soured Disney on the idea of building off site.

VB is a beautiful resort, one of the finest in the world, I am glad to have it as an option.....that don't change the fact that it is a horrible failure.

Its so bad that DVC sales folk lie to sell points there.

I basically agree with everyone.
We own at VB...NOT to use the points at WDW (that's what our VWL pts are for), but because we want the 11 month window at VB...nothing more.

PS- ncligs, I like the 1 or 2br better than the cottages!

My "mystery guide" also surfaced with this e-mail. Too bad he didn't give return my call several months ago. :(

Maistre Gracey,
Thats why we also have OKW pts(on WDW property) and 1 off site (ocean front VB). We also like the 1BR, we had it in July. But you can't beat the view of the "Beach Cottages."
