Eerily Quiet in Town Today

I went shopping in Kingston this morning and it was empty. We go early because it is usually a long wait to get into the car park, but at 9:30 this morning the place seemed deserted - straight into the car park and our choice of the "good" spaces.

I know it's usually a bit quieter late January but this was very weird - I suppose the economic down turn is keeping people away from the shops.

Our town is having a real bad time of it at the moment, Tesco were going to move in, so they shut the old market down and loads of shops, now it looks like there not going to, but in the mean time loads of other shops having closed. Real shame...although merry hill shopping centre is only 10 min drive away and that's always busy.

My hubbie has been saying all week how quiet our nearest town is, Middlesbrough, at lunch time. However, today we slipped over to our biggest, closest, out of town, shopping centre, Teesside Park and the traffic getting in and out of it was horrendous and spaces were hard to find.

I thought Nuneaton was very quiet yesterday for a Saturday afternoon. I think everyone is tightening their belts and avoiding shopping unless it's neccessary these days :(
