Hi everyone! My 120-day window on PS arrangements is swift approaching, and I need some advice on which restaurants to pick! Here's my plan:

I'd like to make PS arrangements for one nice (and hopefully romantic!) dinner for each of the seven nights we'll be visiting WDW. I've narrowed it down to several restaurants -- now I just need some help getting it down to seven! Any and all ideas and comments you could give me would be fantastic!

Oh, and the dining party is just DF and myself. Young sweethearts, we love steak and seafood, looking for some unique dining experiences -- the more romantic, the better! ;-)

These are my choices so far, in no special order. The ones I absolutely want to include are in blue:

- California Grill
- Artist's Point
- Restaurant Marrakesh
- Citricos
- Concourse Steakhouse
- Le Cellier (I'm DYING to try that famed cheddar soup!)
- Rose & Crown (we'd like to see "Illuminations" from here)

- 'Ohana
- Narcoossee's
- Jiko
- Spoodles
- Wolfgang Puck's Upstairs (for the night we go to "La Nouba")

Suggestions, comments, experiences? I'd love to hear it all! I've got six days to decide, so please help a gal out!

Don't have an opinion on all of your choices but one comment I will make is OHana and Concourse staekhouse are delicious, but not romantic at all. Concourse is right next to chef mickeys so yu will hear the noise from there, and OHana is quite a family place, complete with games for the children.

California grill is a good choice, you can even time it to see the MK fireworks if they are having them that night.

Sounds like you have some good choices on your list :)

I was also going to remark that 'Ohana isn't exactly romantic - but the Poly most certainly is! So I would change that dinner to the wonderful Kona Cafe, more quiet and romantic, and then a stroll aruond the grounds.

Your other choices are all good! I don't know how you will narrow it down!

Hi there!

Knowing what I've learned from the wonderful DIS and it's super-friendly members, I was expecting to see families as just about every restaurant we go to, so a strictly romantic dining experience isn't necessary (or even possible, probably!) but it sure will be nice once or twice! ;-)

Thanks for the suggestion on the Kona Cafe -- I'll definitely have to check it out!

Concourse Steakhouse -- Dined here on my last trip and it was excellent! Definitely made my list of must-dines!! Although it is located next to Chef Mickey's, I did not find it to be very loud.

Le Cellier -- This is a must-dine place for me on each trip.

Rose & Crown -- This is another must-dine for me. Make sure when you make your PS (7:30pm) to request a patio table. Stop by early in the day to re-request it, then once again when you check-in.

O'Hana's -- Excellent dining here!

Spoodle's -- Another first time dining on last trip and one of the best meals I've ever had at WDW!!!

I would also strongly recommend:

Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club
Cindy's Castle (dinner) -- request a window seat

Thanks, Terk-1! Excellent recommendations and suggestions!

Keep 'em coming my way, folks! ;-)

-California Grill

- 'Ohana
- Narcoossee's
Okay I narrowed it down for you- now to add two more (personally I would not like California Grill- I don't like that type of cuisine but if you want to be adventuresome keep it in)- and instead of Wolfgang's- how about Shula's?? It's supposed to be the best steak- it would be nice for you to review Shula's vs. Le Cellier v. Yachtman's Steakhouse- oh yeah- I would replace Concourse with Yachtman's- now if you want romantic and special- have you considered saving some spending money and going all out for Victoria & Albert's at the Grand Floridian?? They give you menus printed with your names on them and it's a 5 or 6 course in FINE dining. I think the meals run about $80-$90 per person and an extra $40 per person for the wine/cordial sampler where you get a new selection with each course. Hope this helps!

Hi Tara,

Thanks for the tips! I forgot that the Swan and Dolphin are in DD, so that definitely widens the range of choices we have for our "La Nouba" night. Very cool!

I thought about V&A's, but I think it's pretty far out of our price range, unfortunately. Sounds like a very fancy, romantic place though. Hopefully next time!

If it were me for your five remaining choices I'd do:

California Grill...wonderful food, great views
Narcoossee's...ditto
Citricos....good food, quiet setting
Artist Point...unique setting and food
Jiko....ditto

Wow, bow-wow, the expensive restaurant where they print a menu with your name on it sounds really great. I've been made an offer that I can't refuse.

Can you tell me a little bit more about it's ambiance? I'm big on Piper-Heidsieck, Special Cuvee, Jean-Paul Gaultier for special occassions, and I have one coming up. Do they have a great wine list?

Can you tell me anything about the cuisine? A favorite of mine is handmade Stracci with tomatos, pecorino, olives and basil as a starter. I'm ready to go all out.

This is not everyday for me, so I want to have a fantastic week end. I really want to strike while the iron is hot, so please give me some details as I want to make this a trip to remember.

Do they have a children's menu?

You didn't list the Flying Fish Café (at the BoardWalk, close to Spoodles), but it's one of my favorites. I really like Jiko, too. Citricos is on my "must try next time" list. I'm sure I would have liked Artist Point more if my wife and I had gone alone instead of with our four children just before Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party! Unfortunately, I remember mostly how slow our service was that night, though I could have savored a romantic dinner.

Try California Grill! It is wonderful, awesome, exceptional. The view of FITS is incredible. We've done it 4 times now, and while it is the most expensive meal we do (haven't tried V&A yet), it is well worth it!

Have a great time!

Swan & Dolphin are near the boardwalk, not DD. :)

We chose Jiko last trip for a special night out with no kids. We love the atmosphere at the AKL & Jiko itself is lovely as well. They have a great selection of South African wines. Here's the menu - http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_jiko.htm pictures that don't really do it justice - http://wdwig.com/g_akl.htm#jiko There are other menus & some pictures at Deb's site that are worth checking out!

California Grill...ON A NIGHT THEY HAVE FIREWORKS IN THE MK.

Artist Point. Ask to be seated at one of POK's tables (pronounced POKE) . She's a fantastic server.

Flying Fish.

Brown Derby.

Too bad you've ruled out V and A's. It is, by far, the most romantic restaurant at WDW. Get there, someday.

california grill! we were in wdw for 2 1/2 weeks for our honeymoon and this was our most memorable meal (and we hit a lot of sit downs.) :)

Looks great.:D Happy dining!

It was just me and my dbf on our last trip and here are some of the places we both really enjoyed and thought were kinda romantic.

California Grill....try and get a seating for the fireworks
Coral reef....beautiful atmosphere
Wolfgang Puck's upstairs....the favorite of the entire trip...ask for a window seat
Marrakkesh .....not typically romantic but fun and exotic
Le Cellier.....great food...nice atmosphere
Spirit of Aloha.....ok...not really romantic..but alot of fun....take a walk on the beach and watch the castle change colors afterwards.
Bongos.....also not a quiet romantic place...but there is just something about the atmosphere and the music..kinda gets you in a romantic mood...request a table outside.

Hope this helps

oh...I forgot one....eat in the castle...whether for breakfast or another meal....and request a window seat. There is something so romantic about eating in a castle.
