Eek. Did it! Splurged on DLH for 2 nights of our trip

Congradulations on staying at the Disney Hotel! We have been to all the disney hotels on property and prefer the DH the most. We frequent the DLR a couple times a year when possible to relax. Be sure to discover all the extras at the disney hotels and try them, you won't be sorry. We have stayed off property three times and on property five times, if we can't stay on property, we will no go. It is that simple. We use the facility for what it is, a resort. Smile and Enjoy...:cool1:

When we got are bill on Monday morning before we checked out there was a letter in it saying they were offering an additional night at only $129, if we wanted to stay 1 or 2 more nights. It just killed us that we couldn't do it, we had to get back to work. I don't think the hotels are booking up like they would like, so you still may seesomespecials this summer. The CM at the front desk said it was slower than they had expected especially on Father's day, we also were upgraded to a firework view in the Fantasy tower for free, so just ask.

Someone on the Podcast team posted that they had the same offer during CL opening week, which I found astonishing. That makes me wonder if we'd be better staying at the beginning of our trip....then if there's a chance we get this we could take advantage of it. I was thinking it'd be much better to start simple and upgrade, than the reverse, but hmmmmmm. I'll just have to watch and see if people are getting similar offers closer to the actual date.

In the event you don't get one of the park-facing rooms in the Adventure Tower, the corner rooms closest to the park in the Frontier Tower aren't bad either. If you have little tikes they'll get a kick out of having the geyser just outside the window, and you can see fireworks too (although I agree that they really lose a lot of the impact since DLH doesn't have balconies). If you want to see fireworks without going into the park then the area in DTD between House Of Blues and Jazz Kitchen is decent and only a very short walk from DLH.
