I'm only 6 months away from my wedding !! I'm starting to get sooo excited ! And I've dropped 26lbs ! From 224 to 198!! My goal is to get down to 150.

ANYWAY ...

I just had to post about how excited I am. I am super excited because I found out my family was throwing me a surprise wedding shower and I didn't want one at first because I don't like the idea of wedding showers, but my mom dropped the bomb and I might get one now. I'm so happy !!

I don't even know that I have a question for you all; I just had to post because I'm getting super excited.

Actually -- I was wondering how long it took you all to get your dresses altered? I'm thinking of starting fittings by July and my wedding is September 27 ... would that be enough time? Thanks !

Hee. Sorry I rambled. It's getting so close now and I can't stand it. :-D

wow! that is good reason for feeling "Eeee!!" :cheer2: congrats on the weight loss, how did you do it?

AWESOME!

That is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship:

Congrats on your success!!! I hope you get to your goal weight! Keep us posted!

congrats indeed! Please keep us posted, would love to hear more :)

Congrats on your weight lose and being 6 months away from your wedding. I think it took about 4-8 weeks for my alterations. The bridal shop where I bought my dress had a in-house seamstress.

Hey that's awesome!!

Have you found the dress that you want? My friend bought a dress that needed to be made, so it took about 6-8 months before it was ready...

Congrats on your weight loss! I am sooooo excited for you! I was told that I should be down to my actual weight by my last fitting. My fitting is scheduled for the end of april and I'm getting married at the end of June!

Congratulations!!! Thats so exciting! I would love to know how you did it?! Showers are always fun. Hopefully you get lots of great presents!!! party:

I am not trying to rain on your parade or change the subject - but while everyone is talking about alterations I have a question. I need to have a french bussel created for my dress. I don't even know what that is. Do you guys know where I can take it to have that done? I bought it from a store in CA so I can't really take it back to the store from which it came.

Congrats on the weightloss!!

I went from 226 to 154 before my ceremony. My first fitting was in May and my last was a week before we left because I continued to lose

:woohoo:

Thank you so much everyone, you all made me smile !!

Yesterday I was really disappointed because one of my students asked me if I was pregnant and I almost fell apart later that night, but my fiance goes 'You are the most beautiful girl in the world, you really don't have to worry about that'. I almost cried !

And Bride - to - Be -- No worries ! French bustles are really pretty. I think we're doing one on my dress, but I have no idea where to tell you to look. The ladies in the dress shop showed me how to do it.

My dress is Alfred Angelo number 1205 (I think, lol) ... and my hair style is a simple low bun ... I actually pulled it off a picture from here of one of the little flower girls; her hair was so pretty.

I lost the majority of weight from Weight Watchers and doing Richard Simmons videos and The Firm videos. I'm kinda struggling right now but I'm a lot happier.

Thanks so much for all your nice responses ! I'm so happy. If anyone else has any happy news about their wedding, we can just keep posting on this thread if ya like ... I love the long running threads. :-D

Congrats on your weight loss and being six months out!!!

Alterations- I was told 4-6 weeks but I would do it as soon as you think your body will stay the same size. I went to pick mine up and HATED the way they did my bussle and they have to redo it so now it's taking me another 4 weeks to get it back. I purposely went early just incase something like that happened.

1205 is such a pretty dress! I love it! I think thats so funny about the richard simmons tapes. I still have one from when I was really little. My sisters and I used to watch and try to follow along.

Do you think a french bustle is simple enough so that any tailor could do it? Let me know where you end up going to for your dress. =)
