EE plan of attack

Which makes more sense if you get to EE as soon as the park opens:

1. getting a FP for EE and heading for dino land
2. getting a FP for EE and then hopping in line and saving your FP for later
3. just hop in line for EE immediately

We are going in October. I'm thinking we will probably do plan 2 because I know that my children will want to ride it twice. If we did plan 2 -- how long a line would we be waiting on if we entered the regular line? How long would we be waiting in line for a fast pass for EE?

My thoughts were typed in another post, but no one replied, so I'll add them here instead in hopes of getting feedback or to give you ideas as well.

....

I'm going to AK next Saturday, and I'm still not sure what I should do as far as an attack plan. I'm thinking of a few options. Keep in mind that the two of us have a park hopper for a single day there, and I'd just like to mainly get EE, the Safaris, Tough to be a Bug, Dinosaur, and the trails then hit the rainforest cafe (where I have reservations for 11:30 am .. too early?). From lunch, we'd head over to Magic Kingdom for a few hours and then head over to MGM for the night doing Tower of Terror, Rock n' Rollercoaster, and Fantasmic.

Which option seems best to you as far as a good attack plan that would allow for us to have lunch by noonish so that we could hit Magic Kingdom around 1 PM ish ? Kali River Rapids are out of the question because she does not want to get wet... We're also gonna skip the shows because we're doing something in that vein the next day elsewhere.

I was thinking something along the lines of....

go to EE, get a fastpass, ride EE, head to the Safaris and ride it, do the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, go to Its Tough to be a Bug and get a fastpass for it, go to Dinoland and check out Dino-Sue, ride Dinosaur, ride Primevial Whirl, use our EE fastpasses, head to Its tough to be a bug and use our fastpasses for that and then go to the Rain Forest Cafe.

Any faults in that ? I know you may be concerned about a fast pace, but we will definently take it slow but we do have the goal of keeping our stay within 3 to 4 hours in each park. I'm interested in any feedback you might have about any attack plan after AK with MK around 1 PM..

Two questions...

1) Rainforest cafe reservations are at 11:30 am. Should I bump them up to 12:15 or 12:30 pm based on my plan above for AK ?

2) Where is the best way to go to the EE line to get to the fastpass machine ? through Dinoland ? or through Discovery Island directly to Asia ? I assume that whichever of the two it is, one would then go towards the others direction to get into the actual line

We will be there around 8:15 am and waiting outside the gate. Wondering if they open a little early like Universal does, or if they're tight with opening at 9 AM sharp? Does everybody have to follow a cast member to EE or can they just go ahead on their own?

Many thanks for any contributions or feedback....

The best tip for riding EE is go during an AM EMH. We went in May - got to AK on an AM EMH right as they opened. Went to EE via Asia - not running, but walking quickly and there was no line. Maybe a 5 to 10 minute wait from the time you entered the queue area to getting on EE. I got the FPs for DW and I. And we were able to ride it 4 times before we needed to use the FP. But we're die-hard thrill ride riders...for DS PM EMH we'll ride RnRC and ToT 3-4 times each (as time permits). We'll be there on the 21st at AK and plan to do the same strategy. Not sure if that totally answered your question, but I thought I'd share our experience with EE. :goodvibes

If you don't mind hustling, I think you have a good plan of attack for AK. The only think I would change is to grab your next FP at the earliest time. So, for example, if you get your EE FP, and it states your next FP getting time is 10am. Then at 10am, get the FP for It's Tough to Be a Bug or what ever it is you want an FP for. Just keep an eye on the time and be willing to alter the plans a bit, if necessary. The important thing is to have a list of what you want to accomplish - which you have.

I'd say push your Rainforest Cafe lunch to a later time. Just in case. If you're done earlier, I'd think they'd be able to seat you earlier. Or why not eat at MK? They have some nice sit down restaurants i hear. Or if pressed for time, Tusker house at AK (right near the Safari) is nice too. Just offering other suggestions. :sunny:

Anyway, hope i didn't babble too much and offered some good advice! Enjoy EE!!! It's AWESOME!!! :cool1: :cheer2:

We did the second choice back in March. The end of the line was just about where the FP kiosks are, so we got FP's, then jumped in line. Took us about 10-15 minutes to got through, then we actually had to kill about 30 minutes for our FP to kick in. Hopped over to ride Primevial Whirl, a few minutes in the Boneyard, then back for EE. Next time we will try for 3 times..it is so cool....Voted best ride in all of WDW by DS8 and DS6, even though I had to bribe them both to go on it the first time...DS6 promises to keep his eyes open next time to see the Yeti. :teeth:
