Hello everyone

I just want to say thank you to people that care about their pets.
There are so many of you here.

I had a bad day at work on Tues, and it just makes me angry that people don't take care of their furbabies.

We had an emergency just before I left work. Stayed to help out.
The dog, can't remember how old it is, came in panting and foaming at the mouth. About 12 people came in with it screaming and yelling at us. It took us five minutes to calm them down and get the story. It seems someone left the dog out all day with no water, or shade. The dogs temp. 107 degrees!!!

What on earth are people thinking?
I have no idea if the dog made it or not. I will find out tomorrow.

Please take care of your pets.

**Update** The dog made it through with no obvious signs of brain damage...lucky dog!!!

I just don't understand how people can treat their pets this way. Our mutts are ac puppies. They have never spent more than 30 minutes outside. In the summer we practically have to drag them outside to go potty. Let us know what happened with that poor pup.

Was it their dog they brought in? Regardless, how sad.

Last summer I witnessed a bulldog overheating at the puppy training classes we attended, which were in a barn with fans, but it was still quite warm. Unfortunately, the dog died that night. I'm very nervous about letting our Muffy out to play in the summer during the day. With all that fur, it can't be comfortable!

Yes, it was their dog. Actually it was their sons dog (he was well over 18), and the parents, a grandparent and the kids friends came in. It was a zoo. They called me right before I left to check on the status. All I could say was that we had him hooked up to an IV and to call back later.
It was so pitiful to look at that dog.

oh i know!!! some friends of the family gotta love em but they so do not know how to take care of pets. they totally potty-trained their dog wrong and she still goes in the house now after a year of having her... and they made her get pregnant way too early and she wont take care of her puppies. so they smack her around all the time because they say she is bad.. i want so bad sometimes to call the pound and report them. is that bad to think and/or do that?? and now they want to keep one or two of the puppies!!!!!!!!!  oh and by the way i forgot to mention this. they live in a two bedroom house and if they keep the dogs they will have three lab/ something else mixes! give me a break!!

My daughter wants to be a Vet and currently has summer employment at a Veterinary clinic. I cannot believe some of the tales I hear!!

What is wrong with people? If you cannot love it unconditonally until the day it dies and take good care of it as you would your child....don't get a pet!!

I get sick when I hear what happens to these little babies...

=(

When we were driving to PetsMart last night for the Paw Print Party, Harley started to pant a bit and I was a worried mommy until we got to the store and he stopped. Gosh, he's spoiled, don't most dogs pant? Yeah, I had all vents on him in the car, everything. I can't imagine having that little of a regard for another being.

Ack on them.

Some people don't deserve the wonderful companionship of a fur baby. :(

That makes me so angry!!

We took Treasure in to get her groomed today and when I brought her home she drank two bowls of water!! I dont know if she got that hot on the way home ( it wasnt the far and the air was going full blast), or if she was just so excited or if they didnt give her anything to drink while she was there. This was at Petsmart, Ive always trusted them.

Kitties are people! We have three kitties and one dog.
We have not had any major kitty problems lately at work, though.

That makes me so angry. I know of 2 pugs that died in the heat last Summer. Especially with the flat faced dogs... you CANNOT leave them out in the heat.
