Edmonton to Orlando in December

I may be hitting up WDW in December to meet some friends if I can get decent airfare. I had to cancel my flights to Orange County/ LAX in Feb and will have a credit with west jet after the change fees. What are typical prices for YEG to MCO early December? I also don't see the direct Edmonton to Orlando flight they had last December. It was a red eye, but direct which I love!
Should I wait any longer hoping for a seat sale of some kind? Or will prices only go up for beginning of Dec? It's sitting around $800 right now the highest I'll have ever paid, but I just want to get the flights settled for the best timings I can! I have to fly west jet because of my travel bank credit.

WJ is not likely to come down, in my experience.

The best fare that you'll get is on United for $562 pp but the're all connecting flights.

Thanks Dis_guy! My credit was with west jet so I broke down and paid the extra $400 : total $816
It's the highest I've ever paid for Orlando , but the schedule was right.
And it is in December so it is what it is
I fly on the 3rd depart Edmonton 6:45 am to Calgary arr 7:39 am then depart Calgary at 9:55 am arrive Orlando at 4:46 pm.

Return on the 9th dept Orlando 9:35am arr calgary 1:16 pm then small turbo to Eddytown dept calgary 3:00 pm arr Edmonton 3:53pm

I miss the direct flights they offered last year!

Do I clear customs in Edmonton prior to leaving?
Then returning I'd do customs in Calgary?

Thank you! Could you explain the process a little - do I transfer luggage at a secondary carousel like in Edmonton?

Anyway, my understanding is that you will be picking up your luggage just inside the US customs area (but outside of the hall where the actual booths are) when you arrive in Calgary. You will then proceed to the booths (or use the Nexus machines) after you pick up your bags. Once you are clear customs, you will be able to drop off your bags again.

When you return from Orlando, you will likely need to walk a mile (not kidding) to the Canadian customs. You can pick up your bag after you see a person at a booth or the Nexus machine. There are clearly marked signs after the baggage carousel telling you which way to go if you are going onto a Canadian destination, so you can drop off your checked bags again. You will likely need to go through security screening with you carry-on again since you had access to your checked bags.

That's pretty cool I just changed my return flight on DEC 9 to the later flight departing orlando at 2:20PM.... it's much nicer for ME pickup times, instead of the 9:30 am flight. I now travel home via Toronto instead of Calgary , hoping there's no blizzards! I am still booked to fly out of Edmonton via Calgary and arrive at 4:30pm in Orlando on the 3rd.
VERY Excited for this trip, it's much needed!
