Hello~

Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Eden Roc lately. I know it has been viewed as less than desirable in the past, but it looks like there have been recent renovations and there are some good reviews online. I'm on the fence...

We will be coming down for the Disneyland Half Marathon, and are doing it on a bit of a budget. I have a reservation at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. The Eden Roc is less expensive and very close to the start/finish of the races. The proximity to the races is my main plus on this property. The Plaza is closer to park entrance, but I don't think we'll be having too much park time because my husband's AP is not valid that Saturday & Sunday, plus we are doing the Dumbo Double Dare so I need to save my legs!!

Any recent knowledge and opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

Krista :)

I would be wary of staying at Eden Roc, given that they had a stabbing/attempted sexual assault there just over a year ago at 7:45 pm: http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2...ives_harrowing_attack_on_disneyland_trip.html

Thanks for the response! I had heard of the incident, however the report I read said it was at the Alamo Inn. Same vicinity. I am not really worried about the area, I am familiar with it. I think this was pretty much an isolated incident and the whole area is generally pretty safe and there are usually a lot of folks about!

I am more interested in the cleanliness/bug situation really...

Anyway, thanks again for the response & any input is very much appreciated!

Yes, it was the Alamo. I honestly do not feel Eden Roc is safe. It is one area I won't allow family to stay. It may be better now, but I wouldn't take the risk.

DH & I stayed there a few years ago, before it was Eden Roc. I can't remember what it used to be. We hated it. Will never go back. Dirty, uncomfortable, not that great of a location, and they stole a brand new POTC football jersey DH had just bought. Then lied about it when we asked about it. We've stayed at so many hotels around Disneyland and that was the worst. By far.

We don't care much for the Anaheim Plaza either, but when the price is right, we can deal with it.

i haven't stayed recently, it's been probably 4 years, but it was by far the worst hotel i've ever stayed at around disneyland. dirty dirty dirty.
