sorry for hijacking this thread but it is sort of relevant,
We (my husband & I ) are travelling to WDW staying on site, we have rented a conertible but it has become clear that due to arthritus and other problems with my leg that I will not be able to walk much at the parks or even get from the car to the shuttle bus (depending where we are parked in the row) very easily. can we possibly fit a small electric scooter in the car using the trunk and back seat of the convertible or is it going to be impossible?

we could change to a different type of car but were really looking forward to the open top.
thank you

we rented a Saturn VU last trip and we were able to lift it in and out of the back without taking it apart. It was heavy, but my DH and DS were able to easily lift it in and out. We were a family of 4 with 4 Disney adults. actually the kids were 10 and 15, but at Disney they were adults, and we had plenty of room.

We found the VU on the Emerald Aisle at National and using codes got it for a really great price.

If you can, you might want to see about getting a temporary handicap parking tag before you leave. We did and it was easy to park the car, take out the ECV and then walk (ride) to the entrance.

Most convertibles do not have more than six cu ft of trunk space, especially with the top down. If there are just two of you it could probably be doable, but you would have to put some of the parks in the rear seating area.

thankyou Cheshire Figment,

& PowellRJ where and how would I get a temporary parking tag & would this be possible as we live in the UK?:)

If you have a Blue Badge it is accepted in WDW (and in the Orlando area) just as an official state-issued disabled tag.

I would think no on the ECV fitting in the convertable. I rented an offsite ECV on my last trip. We ended up with a full size SUV so we would have enough room for the ECV. I have a Mustang convertable at home and can not even imagine that the piece of the ECV would fit into the trunk and/or the back seat. There really isn't much room in either place.
