ecv rentals in November - availability

We will need to rent a ecv for my father during our trip in November (12th - 20th) and I'm wondering how early we will need to get to the parks to get one. Is there any way to reserve them or do you just have to get there early and take your chances? Renting one offsite is really not an option because we are staying at hisf and not planning on renting a car so it would be quite difficult to get it to the parks and back each day. Anyone know how quickly they usually run out of them during that time of year? Thanks f or any information!

hmmmm..... I wonder if the shuttle bus from HIFS accomodates ECVs... I would check. A long-term rental is usually preferable.

ECVs tend to be rented out fairly early on busy days, so I would recommend getting there sooner rather than later. He will still have to get from the bus to the park, though, and that can be quite a hike for people who have difficulty walking.

i've always been lucky, we've been going to dis almost every year for the last 10 or so, i've needed a wheelchair or ecv everytime, after the first yr of killer heat(we go in june/july) we've stuck w/ecv's. we go early so never have a problem, but somedays it wd be nice just to sleep in!!! but the idea of having to lug around an ecv isn't too much fun either! also, i worry about not being able to recharge it as needed. too many times at dis, i've needed to get one recharged by dinnertime, which is fine IF i'm using dis ecv's, but i don't know what the deal is if u have yr own. the only place that doesn't have ecv's and cd use them is pleasure island and the marketplace! i cd really use one there! so, plan on getting there as the park opens and u will be fine, even an hour or so later, but after that... it just depends on the crowds!

I just wanted to make sure it was clear; you can't reserve an ecv ahead of time form the parks. It is first come, first served.
I have seen postings where people report the ecvs were all gone by noon or earlier. I've also seen postings indicating that wheelchairs were temporarily all gone when park hoppping and getting to a park in the afternoon.
I am pretty sure someone who had stayed at a non-Disney resort was able to get them to provide a wheelchair accessible shuttle for him. Since they are providing it for their other guests, they might be obligated to provide a comparable service to you. It's worth a call to ask.

Last week I learned an interesting tidbit about he ECVs at WDW - Disney does not own them, they lease them. I do not know from whom they are leased. Three days last week I had to have a replacement EVC sent to where I was. The CMs were very gracious about calling to get the replacements & the CMs who brought them were also gracious about it. However, I did get the impression that this is more the norm than not.
