ECV rental questions

We will be needing to rent an ECV for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for my dad. This is the only time he will be with us on our trip.

I am planning on renting one from an off-site company as we need to gurantee that he will have one and can't run the risk of MK being out of them.

Does anybody have any recommendations as to which company to use? We only need it for the one day if that matters and won't have a way to transport it so will need to have it delivered to our hotel. Do any of the companies do that?

Also, will it matter if I rent it in my name and he uses it?

If you look at the FAQ's section at the start of this forum, there is a section there about ECV rental places and their phone numbers. It also gives facts about transportation with them and a whole lot of other useful info.

For the one evening only at MVMCP I would really suggest using a Disney ECV. I don't know if any of the off-site companies would be willing to rent for one day one.

A key question is are you staying at a Disney Resort or off-property, and where? Also, how mobile is he; this will work to determine more specific suggestions. If you are staying on property can he step up onto a bus?

We will be staying onsite although he is not. He will be visiting family and is driving to Orlando to attend the party with us.

He is okay to walk (limited) on a day to day basis but last time he was at WDW he realized just how big Magic Kingdom was and has agreed to use a scooter.

The only concern we have with renting a WDW one is that if they are sold out when we get there at 4:00 or 5:00 then what?

Normally the MK has very light attendance the days of a Party. People know that unless they have a Party ticket the Park closes at 7:00. For an arrival about 4-5:00 (or even later) there should be no problem in getting an ECV at the Park.
