Good day all,

My Dad (67) is disabled and can only walk short distances. He is also very tall 6'3" and very large 325+lbs. He is planning a trip to Universal Orlando and I am trying to research ECVs as I want him to get the most out of his experience. He is only visiting Universal for 1 day-and I know they have ECVs for rent, but I can't seem to find a picture or model number for them ( I called but they didn't know). I am afraid he may not fit in a standard ECV and never having seen one or used one, not sure how big they are. I asked the park if there was a weight limit and they said no, but I see on some of the private sites that they do list a weight limit. He really just wants to see the Harry Potter world and rides (I know he may not even fit on those), and I think getting an ECV would be the only way to do it.

1) Does anyone have the dimensions, model number or picture of the ECVs you can rent from Universal?

2) Alternatively, does anyone have experience with a company/model that would be especially good for a 1 day rental (staying onsite hotel) for an extra large (tall and wide) person with bad knees and bad feet?

Thank you very very much.

I have had experience with Walker Mobility in the past. They are the exclusive provider at the Loews hotels at Universal Orlando. You can go to their web site and see the scooters. What is so nice about this company you can go online and pick a scooter for your specific weight needs. They do delivery and pick up at the hotel lobby. Just look up walker mobility on line. Number 1-888-726-6837. You can plug the scooter in at the end of the day in the hall outside your room and it's ready for the next day. Maybe this will give him the freedom to spend a little more time there. I think it is so nice that you are helping your dad with his vacation. :)

I'm not sure about your specific ECV questions, but I did want to mention that if you do rent a scooter, if he wants to see the queues in the Wizarding World (or most places at Uni), he'll either have to walk or transfer to one of the pushchairs they provide. If you can find an electric wheelchair to rent that doesn't have handlebars, he'll be able to take it through the queues :)

Renting directly from US is by reservation only for ECV.
I found this out when going 2 weeks ago.
They have a very limited supply.
The days I needed one there, they were already booked for a week out.
Manual chairs are readily available with no reservation.
We chose that option since ECV's are not allowed in queu's there.
