That's what I was going to say, too. GM has always given me the ponchos and shower caps, so I've never bought any beforehand. However, if you want to plan on rain every day for a few weeks, I'd suggest you go to Dollar Tree and pick up a 10 pack of plastic shower caps.Gold mobility usually gives you a few disposable type ponchos and shower caps with the ECV rental. The shower caps work well to keep the tiller dry, just pop it over the controls. The ponchos work well to keep you kinda dry but they also make a good rain cover for the scooter. Put it over the seat and tiller and just makes sure the arm holes aren’t facing up.
I’ve used the ponchos but never thought Of shower caps. That’s a good idea! My DH buys in bulk for proofing bread. That's what I was going to say, too. We rented from them and there were 2 rain covers in the basket of the scooter when it was delivered.Gold mobility usually gives you a few disposable type ponchos and shower caps with the ECV rental. Excellent idea. We've had them blow away.I always take a package of clothespins with us. They work great to secure a plastic poncho on an ECV, stroller, or elsewhere
My mom and I both had scooters last month and brought with us clear shower curtain liners from the dollar store. We’d wear a poncho that draped o we the seat and use the shower curtain liner over the tiller, our lap, and the basket using beach towel clips to hold everything in place. Everything stored in big ziploc bags and kept in the back pocket of the scooter seat. Worked really well.
The ziplocks “rain gear” is thin enough it did not interfere with the charger being in the back pocket but then again, we would be fastidious with how we folded everything back up.The scooter company told me to keep the charging cord in that pocket. Just in case. I've only had to use it once, but it is comforting to have it.
