ECV Confusion

Since the search button on the forum is not working for me, I'm going to start this as a new thread.

There was some confusion earlier on the boards about whether you can rent an ECV at Disneyland and then go over to DCA without turning it in. I contacted the DLR line yesterday and they said that you can in fact take the ECV between DL and DCA as much as you want and can even turn it into the other park even if you rent it from the first one. The only place you cannot go is DTD with your ECV.

I don't know if others knew this (I didn't), but you can also rent it on Main Street when they open up the gates earlier before rope drop. This is great for my family as my mom can rent her scooter before the park opens. :moped:

Its actually called a ECV (Maybe why the search didnt work?)

Yes you can in deed ride it between parks. The boundries are the Security tents on either side and if you exit in DCA through the Grand Californian they make you leave it there before you exit.

In the summer time/busy times they set up tents outside Disneyland to rent them before park opening. It saves time and the person then has it to wait in line.verses standing. In the not busy season its rented where strollers are and you can rent them as soon as you enter (Usually a half hour before park opens unless park opens early) If the park does not have a rope drop you cant rent them early as nobody is allowed in the gate then. This happens when ther parks open very early like 8am. There is no rope drop but a mass entering. If you have early entry priveledges you can indeed rent them during that hour too.

Actually, according to www.disneyland.com and the Disneyland Disabilities Guide, it is called a ECV (Electronic Convenience Vehicle).

The search function does not work for me for any terms (including advance search), but oh well.

ty i will admit we are still gona use one and I had wondered about this too so ty

I have rented one before, and they are fantastic! You can go between the parks, and if you are headed to DTD, just park it by bag check... Take your key with you, and grab it on the way back.

Yeah they are pretty great! It was a breeze to rent one last time we went. I don't think my mom could have enjoyed the park without one! They are a little spendy at $30 a day, but are so worth it! My mom has COPD, so it is very hard for her to walk far without her lungs getting full and wheezing. I don't think I ever saw her as free spirited as when she was on her "scooter"! :goodvibes

Thanks for the tip about leaving it by bag check if we want to go to DTD and taking the key out. We may stop by DTD during our days there, but we are spending the first night there to eat at Ralph Brennan's (last time, my mom just sat on the various benches there to take breaks so she could walk down there--we won't be in a rush, so she can take it slow).
