ECV and weight limit question.

I'm a first time user & would like to rent a ECV that is portable, need to use a cab during visit & also want to break it down in the room to save space. Most of the ones that I've seen from the Disney approved companies have a 300 lbs. maximum weight limit, I'm 290 lbs. I have read that the battery runs down sooner the more weight that's on the ECV. Will this work or do I need to go to a ECV that isn't portable and weight limit goes to 325 to 350?

I'm pretty sure even most of the larger offsite rentals you can take apart but the individual pieces especially the batteries can be heavy.

You would need something like the Victory 10 which will take up to 400lbs. It breaks down into 5 parts: seat, battery cover, two batteries, rear motor/axle, and main platform/tiller. This won't fit into a trunk, though - you'd need to transport it in an SUV/mini van.

Agree that you do want to go with a higher weight limit.
The weight includes everything on it, so besides you, it includes the weight of your clothing plus anything you are carrying

You may want to rethink taking it apart in the room. Together, it is actually going to be more compact. Apart, you will have all the individual pieces that are kind of unwieldy sizes and shapes

Well if you are 10 lbs under the weight limit whet is the problem? Yes a heavier load will put more stress on the equipment but at 300lbs it is designed to accommodate an oversized user.

There are portable, travel scooters that have a weight capacity of 350 pounds. The Pride Victory 10 is one such scooter.
Those scooters are available for renting. You will probably pay about $50 more for a week compared to a smaller scooter. It has a longer lasting battery, too. I think in your case this would be the perfect answer.
