My dad will be taking a portable oxygen concentrator with us into the parks and renting an ECV to cut down on his O2 demands and conserve his energy. Will the POC fit in the front basket or do we need to rent from a company who provides the back basket on ECVs as well?

I have a Pride ECV and a POC (XPO100)which fits in the basket with no problem. The baskets on the Disney rentals are larger.

Thank you. We planned this trip in February and my dad was put on oxygen 24/7 in May. We are cruising then going to WDW and he and my mom are completely in denial about how much legwork has to be done and the logistics involved in getting the mobility aids delivered, some portable oxygen cylinders arranged as backup, the fact that his HELIOS liquid system isn't allowed on the ship, etc. I asked him today how he thought he would have oxygen at WDW when he couldn't just step out into the garage and refill his tank, or be plugged into the home concentrator. Hadn't crossed his mind.:confused3. I called the home care company and they're loaning him a POC that supposedly fits in a shoulder bag, thank goodness.

Hello,

I took my mother in 2011 when she was on oxygen. Her oxygen rental company provided a POC for our trip. I don't know if you are flying or not, but I found out We had to have a letter from her doctor stating her need for oxygen for the airline to allow it onboard, and they checked to make sure we had enough batteries for the flight time x 1.5 just in case. Most companies have some sort of printable form or will mail you the form prior to your flight. Her POC fit in her ECV basket just fine, but she found it more convenient to store it behind her feet on the platform and use the basket or we also hung it from the back of the seat. We were also allowed to bring it on many rides. I can't remember them all, but I know the trains, Dumbo, haunted mansion, and pooh. Restaurants even allow you to sit near a plug and charge if you ask. My mom enjoyed it so much she wanted to buy one for home! You will have a great time! ::yes::
