OK. I have been thinking for years about buying a Marriott or other timeshare to trade and use. (I am leaning towards a HH Island Marriott because I would like to use it when I don't trade)

I was wondering what folks think the economy will do to timeshare resales.

Marriott is like Disney in that it holds it's value VERY well, but... I don't think they ROFR do they?

I am probably going to re-join TUG this weekend and start poking around.

My thoughts are that eventually I will sell some DVC points for this, but they are not really related. I can buy when the market is down and hold my DVC until a recovery LOL!

I have started to do this very same thing. What Marriots are you looking at if I may ask?

Well that's the problem...:rotfl2: The one's I like are still VERY HIGH!

I was thinking HH so that is the GrandOcean, Barnoy Beach and the new SurfWatch. I like Monach a LOT, but it's a fixed week and I am not sure it will trade well. That said I found one today for Monarch that was VERY resonable for a week in October and since I don't have kids I actuall perfer HH in the fall.

I think I need to see if HH in the fall is easy to trade into from OTHER Marriotts and think about that too LOL!

Dean is the expert on Marriott.

also go to the marriott site on
www.tug2.net

marriott are too expensive for me - can only have one expensive one - that is DVC.

marriott has a policy where they buy directly from the owners. I think. It has been a long time since i Looked at the marriotts.

so the ones who would sell to you cheaper are selling it directly to Marriott

You need to go over on the TUG board, I'm sure someone has experience trading a fall big 3 HHI week.

I talked to a broker about a Manor Club week and she said Marriott's ROFR sometimes is crazy. I think one or 2 of the TUG'ers had Manor Club lockoffs nabbed up a couple of times before they got one through.
