Hello, we are booked on this cruise next year and were wondering if anyone has tips for hotel stay for a few days after the cruise in Barcelona? Anyone with any input about weather, entertainment I would love to hear them. Appreciate your time. Thanks:o

We stayed at the Violeta Boutique before. It was in a great location and reasonably priced. It was walking distance to the Sagrada Familia, I recommend planning some time to visit, it is beautiful.

We stayed at the Renaissance (DCL link) and found it centrally located for visiting many Gaudi masterpieces. We walked to his two buildings (toured the one he built from ground up), then to Sagrada Familia where we had booked (on internet before trip) reservations (took elevator up into one of the towers -- one way, you have to walk down). Next day we went to Parc Gruell via bus, his iconic park (need reservations to get in arranged by our hotel). Afternoon we taxied to a walking tour of Old Town and Picasso Museum (also reserved prior to trip) and ate dinner at the 4Cats Restaurant where Picasso hung out, then walked back to hotel. Next day we boarded Magic for B2B Med./WBTA. We saved visiting La Rambla for the day between cruises.
Two things: Rick Steves has books and YouTube videos on this city and all others in the Med. Also, look out for pickpockets...there are videos on them as well, best in Europe. If you are into Dan Brown novels, his last book, "Origin," takes place in Barcelona and features many of the sites I mentioned above. If you are stopping in Florence, Dan Brown's "Inferno" focuses on this city. He does not mention DCL or Mickey, however.

This years ebta was like a 13 night river cruise with 75 degree temps. Next year could be the total opposite. There's hundreds of hotels in Barcelona. We stayed at H10 art gallery. Nice hotel walkable to everything no complaints.

We were on this year's EBTA, too! The Atlantic Ocean was so smooth and flat most of the time that it was like gliding on glass! The Captain, Cruise Director, and practically ever other crew member kept commenting on this being the smoothest crossing they've ever experienced! The Captain also noted that we were ahead of schedule because of how smooth the ocean had been. We were on last year's EBTA, as well, and although that one was also very smooth, the ocean always had slight waves.

Last year we stayed at the Hotel Colon. It as right across from the Barcelona Cathedral and easy walk to Los Rambas. We thought it was a great location
