EBTA 2014...Across the Atlantic we go!!!

My list is pretty similar to yours...

14th wedding Anniversary on 13th May
DH 40th whilst on board (27th), mine is just after we get home
Lots of sea days
No emails, phones and work
Room service
Exploring the new kids club
Food

:yay:

SWEET!!! We will have to meet up for a drink of course since our anniversaries are a day apart:)

We are all so excited about this trip! Looking forward to all of us making new friends. DS is 8 and DD is 5 so hoping to meet up with other kids similar in age. Last cruise DD wouldn't stay in the kids club but hoping if she makes a friend DH and I can have some time to ourselves as we really want to go to Palo and check out some of the adult areas of the ship.

Our daughter loves the kids clubs, and will be turning 6 in just a few weeks, so maybe she will hit it off with your daughter.

We are considering the EBTA and following it with a 7day Mediterranean. Anyone out there done this trip B2B? Is there enough time to depart and have lunch in Barcelona before reboarding and the ship leaves?

We are doing the B2B you will have plenty of time to get off the ship and explore Barcelona.

My Josie will be 6 and Andre will be 3, Josie is a leader and brings EVERYONE in to what ever game she is doing...........so your kids hook up with her and they will be A-OK!!! Then we can all have drinks in an adult friendly location ;)

Hi all. We are looking at transferring our next May's WBPC booking onto this one due to air fare costs and other issues. Now, we booked that one on this year's May WBPC with the special offer 20% discount off repositioning cruises. Did any on this cruise book this one with this offer?

The thing is DCL are now saying that Transatlantic cruises aren't considered repositioning cruises(what ever they think it is when the Magic goes over to Europe for the summer I don't know:confused3!!) So on transferring they will only give the normal 10% discount. If I were to transfer to another Panama Canal cruise then i would get the 20% off. Our TA said she will fight the case if I know others who did book at the 20% off. I have found a thread on the Dis when the offer first came out and this cruise was indeed included but wondered how many others took advantage of the offer.

Thanks a lot. Hopefully we will be onboard.

Hi! We booked with the 20% off during the Panama Canal last May so it should be possible.

Hi there, I remember you on the PC. That was a great cruise and we had hoped to be onboard again next May. Thanks for replying. I have put in our request so hopefully they will do the right thing. I can't get over the fact that DCL don't class a Transatlantic as repositioning. Erm, what is it then:lmao:?

We booked this cruise with the 20% discount while we were on this year's (2013) EBTA last May.

The 20% discount was available the 2014 EBTA, the 2014 WBTA in September (I think - didn't actually check it), and the Panama Canal cruises (because we looked at that one as well)

Hope that helps!

DH re-booked EBTA 2014 with 20% off whilst onboard EBTA 2013, but the offer wasn't on for WBTA 2014, otherwise he would've re-booked our WBTA booking too

Thank you both. I hope this all helps though I doubt it. I guess we will still be onboard even if we have to accept the normal 10%.:rolleyes2

Hey, everyone!

I've been booked on this cruise since last February, when it opened up. We're doing it B2B with the 7-day Mediterranean cruise. I'll be coming over with my daughter and sharing our cabin with another close friend and her daughter. Then in Barcelona the husbands will be joining us. We took a wonderful cruise on the Fantasy in May 2012, and are now hooked. We're on yet another cruise with my mom to the Bahamas this January.

Especially since we'll be on the ship for so long, I'd love to at least occasionally get together with others and meet some fellow Disney cruise fans. I don't have time to plan for fish extender exchanges for the January cruise (though I've been busy making magnets!), but I'd love to try something for this May cruise! I have an 11-year-old daughter and I'm sure I won't see much of her during the day (she'll be off with my friend's daughter), and my friend is a pool-and-spa sort of lady whereas I can't be in the sun much and spas are not my thing. We are going to plan on going to many of the wine and liquor tastings, though!:stir:

I'm a long-time disboards reader but so far I've just been lurking. So hail and well met to all of you! :yay:

Hail Leslie, and welcome! If you are on Facebook, please join our FB page https://www.facebook.com/groups/148917538617224/ as it is more active than the Disboards thread. I'm not much of a pool person either, although I do love the hot tub. I do love the heated stone loungers in the spa, and a no-chip manicure, but other than that we can leave the spa to others. :-)

As you'll see on the first page there are lots of events planned and a chocolate tasting is being contemplated.
Looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks! I've put in a FB request to join the group, and signed myself and my group up on the spreadsheet. My friend is very excited about the fish extender exchange, and we'll be joining in for some of the tastings as well! :^)

Hi, DH and I have been booked on this cruise since last fall, traveling with friends, so I don't expect to participate in many of the activities, but I am very interested in hearing more about the cruise, so I put in a request to join the FB group a couple of days ago. Also signed us up on the DIS list, which I just found.

Hey Everyone!

We finally caved and booked the cruise. The kids still don't know about it. LOL

Myself and hubby are very excited and I know our DS 10 and DD6 will be over the moon.

We did the Alaskan Cruise last summer and they complained bitterly that there wasn't enough time on the boat. Well there will be plenty of time now.

Looking forward to Wine Time and Down Time!!

Could someone please send some hotel recommendations for the night before near the Port? It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to all those recently booked. :cool1:

I am getting more and more excited now and will be counting down the months, weeks and days.

Did anyone create a private chat area for the kids to get to know each other before the cruise? I know someone put out feelers to see if people would be interested in a closed kids group, but I don't recall a mention of it being set up.

oh, I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!
