Hello everyone,

New to this board, but have been a lurker on-and-off for a while.

My question is with regards to renting a Wyndham Bonnet Creek unit/timeshare from Ebay, specifically with Timesharemall (Deryk). I've peruse this board for past rentals/reviews, but nothing more current has come up. Has anyone out there recently rent from this seller, and what was your experience? Would you recommend?

I rented from timesharemall on Ebay and we check in next week. So far everything has been great. I called WBC and confirmed our reservation. His reviews were positive on Ebay & I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I looked at his auctions and they were all priced very well. The only concern is that he is selling them on ebay for a lot less for what Wyndham Vacation Owners would charged in maintenance fees for the week. He could be Platinum VIP owner who gets the inventory at 50% off points within 60 days of checkin. (It is a Club Wyndham Platinum Owner benefit)

The line in the auction would deter me from buying from this seller. "Please also send us the name you would prefer to be on the reservation, and your address which is needed to finalize the reservation; you will receive your final confirmation 15 days before check-in." and the "NO REFUNDS." If he is a Platinum VIP and booked within the 60 day window, a guest certificate can be issued through Wyndham within 24 hours of purchase.

I would like my confirmation a little further than 15 days in advance, especially if I am paying hundreds of dollars out.

Kylenick, did you rent further out than 15 days, and did you get a confirmation from Deryk before his stated "15 days " window? Wanted to see what your experience was. Can you also let me know how your rental went once you're back?

I booked at the end of May and received my confirmation within two weeks. I used Paypal and put the reservation in my husbands name. As an Ebay seller, I've always asked my buyers to verify their name & address because sometimes Paypal information correct. I thought if was normal for him to be requesting this information. I had read somewhere on the boards that WBC does not have your reservation in their system until 15 days out. I called WBC directly to verify that they had our reservation at the 15 day mark. My confirmation has his company listed at 5 Star Resort Vacations. We check in the 20th and I'll let you know how it goes.

Happy to report everything went great! Check in was quick & easy. 3 bedroom presidential was exactly as described. Resort is beautiful but very crowded. I would rent from him again. Very happy

The collection of information is standard for the owner transfer. You will get a document with your name and address that shows you have the week and if you were to call the resort they would have it as well. This is a plus, not a minus.

eBay has feeback which will tell you the seller's history.

As a Wyndham owner, this doesn't really seem strange to me if you know their policies. Yes, a guest certificate can be issued in 24 hours HOWEVER the Wyndham owner probably does not want to add the guest certificate to the reservation until just prior to the 15 day mark. He/she does not get a refund for the guest certificate ($99) even if the reservation is cancelled. All reservation can be cancelled and points refunded before 15 days. So, it makes sense from the owner's perspective (and there's no harm to the renter) in waiting to add the guest certificate. The reservation is confirmed - it will just be in the owner's name until around the 15 day point.
