Just want to vent and say shame on all of those people who buy passholder vinylmation only to place them on ebay immediately. Same with people who were at the Pin Trading event and talking about placing things on ebay as fast as they could get them. You people are the reason why collecting pins and vinylmation is no longer fun. Those who do it for fun should not have to battle with professionals looking to make money.

While I have never purchased any vinylmation figures, I used to buy and resell Disney pins for lots of people on dizpins, reselling them at cost, and making a tiny profit, perhaps 25 cents or so, on shipping and handling. This help put some gas into my economy car for the 55 mile trip to and from Disney World. I enjoyed creating and printing lists of all of the pins I had to buy, often walking out of the parks with hundreds of dollars worth of pins, all carefully examined for flaws. Some of the cast members remembered me from week to week.

After packing the pins up and shipping them out, I enjoyed receiving emails from recipients who were thrilled to get the pins they wanted without having to be at Disney to get them.

Alas, since I no longer have an annual pass, I hardly go to Disney World anymore. However, I live vicariously through the postings on this site and on dizpins, and am happy to read that so many of you are so willing to buy Disney pins for complete strangers who can't make it to WDW for various reasons. It's part of the pin trading/collecting spirit.

wdwpins you are not a culprit here. I see people selling the trade city road side pins for up to $500 on eBay when they were free on the pin boards these are probably the same ones that wouldn't help me out and trade

I went to trade city..for the first time..
and..was appalled at most of the behavior at the back tables and at the yacht club.
I will NEVER again trade with anyone that takes a table for trading.
I am now convinced that these folks are thieves.
Case in point....
On Thursday night....I went to the tables..looking to trade...
I met a man...who seemed so nice..and honest.
He was so helpful..explaining about limited editions and such..
and..he made it clear..that he would only take limited editions of 250 or less for his pins.
AND..he kept referring to the original price point of each pin.
So..I was interested in a CM vinylmation pin...
and..I showed him my extra event pins..that I had bought...
all 250 LEs...
one that he said he wanted was sold out and cost me 17.
So..he said..that I could have the CM for it..and to pick another.
But,every pin I picked..he said was too nice.
So..finally...thinking I was being more than generous...
I picked the regular Yankees rack pin...
He told me:NO!@ that one is 10 bucks and also too good for your pin.
I then realized that he was just a crook...
and..bowed out.
I was so disgusted with the whole thing..that I did not go to the convention on Fri.
on Sat....
I watched him..and many others at the event....
demand that newbies buy them expensive event items to trade...
and...they did.
Over and over again..I saw this man..and a bunch of his cohorts take advantage of newer traders.
It is awful..and..I am sure that he justifies it...
but..it is wrong..and certainly not in the spirit of magic.
I am now...seriously rethinking pin trading....as a hobby.
As so many..have made it their business.:headache:
