Ebay, what would you do?

I purchased a monitor on ebay the Tuesday after Christmas. A week or so later I received an email from Fedex stating that a shipping label had been created and gave the tracking information. Nothing happened....I waited a week, sent the seller another email and that night I received yet another Fedex email. This one is the same as the first, the label has been generated however the package has not been delivered to Fedex. I just sent another email to the seller stating that I needed to hear from him within 36 hours or I would leave VERY negative feedback and pursue reimbursement from paypal. His response was "forwarding to shipping department" in the email and he included another address recipient. No explanation, apology, etc.

I've never had a transaction go so bad on Ebay. My husband thinks I've been taken and I'm starting to think he's right (don't tell him I said so! ). Has anyone ever tried to get their money back through Paypal? Am I doing the right thing or would you recommend another tactic?

you can dispute any charge on any credit/debit card, with paypal I think theres some kind of fraud insurance as well.good luck

he didn't have the paypal account set up to accept cards. Instead required money to be pulled from Paypal or a checking account. Thankfully, I'm only out about $40. So if it's the cost of learning a lesson, it won't break my bank. But it still irritates me!

I'm going to look at Paypal tomorrow and see what they have on their site.

Thanks!

If its been less the 30 days (it has) you can file a claim of non receipt with Paypal and they will refund you if the seller cannot prove they shipped

I've only had one problem with an item that was not received. I had paid with PayPal but had the money come from my checking account, not a credit card. The amount was small ($15) but it was the principle of the thing. The seller in this case would not respond at all to my emails.

Make sure that you've saved all correspondence. File your complaint with PayPal. Sometimes by just doing that, it will spurr a seller into action. In my case, he ignored the PayPal emails as well. After unsuccessful contact with the seller, PayPal refunded my money.

PayPal will require proof of delivery confirmation from the seller, if he responds. This is why it's important, as a seller, to do some sort of delivery confirmation when you ship your items. If the seller cannot prove that the item reached its destination, then it is between him and his shipping companyto find the item. As a consumer, you should not be out of the money.

I filed a claim with Paypal for two items I bought for Christmas presents. I also notified the seller that I planned to do so. Gess what? They pulled out of ebay and I can't get my money now! I hate to be negative but I thoguht I was doing the right thing by warning them of my plans, it just kept me from getting my money back. :(

I would NOT notify the seller that you plan to file with paypal... they can just pull all of their money out of paypal then (if they have any in there  )
The few times I've filed a paypal complaint, miraculously the seller shipped that very same day
So I agree, file the complaint with paypal, that may get some action out of your seller.

If you continue to have difficulty getting your item or your money back.
