ebay vent (kinda long)

I need somewhere to vent about this and maybe someone here has had a similiar experience and can help me out. I won an auction several days ago, paid with Paypal right after auction ended. The guy shipped the item out the same day and even refunded $5 for shipping because it didn't cost as much as he put on the auction! But when he left feedback for my he accidently put in my email address and nothing else. So I email him and tell him. He emails me back saying he was very sorry and wanting make it right. He has been so great and has been trying from his end to fix it.

Well, I email ebay and tell them my email address was put in my feedback and I want it removed and so does the seller. Well, we have to have it mutually withdrawn and go through this long process of filling out forms and going through arbitration, etc. Until then and if they withdraw it I have to make my feedback private and when we are through it will state on my profile that I have had feedback mutually withdrawn.

So now I can't sell the things I was going to sell and I am going to spend who knows how long trying to get this fixed. I am not mad at the seller, he seems just as frustrated about this as I do.

Has anyone else had problems like this? What should I do?

As far as I know, anyone logged in to e-bay can access your email address anyway, so if you are concerned about privacy, that really isn't that big an issue. I could be wrong about that though.

It's been awhile since anyone but the seller/bidder has had access to an email addy.

Has something changed recently with ebay? It used to be that if there was an email addy in the feedback, they would remove it. Of course that was before the "new" mutually withdraw thing they have now. Have you tried live ebay yet?

On the page they directed me to it states that they will remove any personal information left in the feedback. So I don't understand why it has to be mutually withdrawn. I emailed them back, I guess we will se what happens.
