Ebay trouble - bought Pal Mickey - other owners I need your help

Hi. I just turned on my daughter's Pal Mickey I bought off of ebay for her birthday (we are going to wdw in 31 days). Anyway you push his tummy and he says the same joke about Pluto over and over again. Each time I pushed the same joke. Is this normal for a new doll just out of the box? I don't want to get a ll bent out of shape but this sure doesn't sound like the toy I thought I was buying. I know he will obtain park specific downloads when we are there, but I thought he would tell multiple jokes and phrases... can anyone explain this and recommend if I should pursue a refund?

You have to wait I think 10 seconds before pushing him again and he'll say something different. The reason for this is when you're in the parks it's sometimes too loud to hear what he's saying. In that case you just push him again within the 10 seconds and he'll repeat it for you.

I also noticed that after we went to the parks and he downloaded the new info, he started telling new jokes.

If he tells you to head to a certain ride because there's a short wait, listen to him! He told us to get on the Pooh ride in MK because the line was short and we walked right on. Within an hour, the line was HUGE.

He sounds like so much fun! I think we will have the best time with him. My girls are 8 and 5 1/2 and it's just us going with Mickey Can't wait! What a great tip about going where he says! I will sure pay attention if he gives us suggestions.

I bought two Pal Mickeys for our trip in January (Got them from Disney outlet). They were such a huge hit and my girls took them to each and every park . Anyway, a few tips. Make sure he is turned on, otherwise all he does is tell jokes and repeats himself. You may want to change his batteries as well depending on if he was previously used.

It is ok. As others habve siad tehre is a 10 second delay, also, more jokes will download as you enter a park. I was lucky over Feb. break and One Upon a Toy at DTD had them for 28.00 with a $65.00 purchase--my sister was buying a princess dress and a few stuffed things, so I tucked Mickey in with her order. DD 9 just loved the info from AK when she took it with her for the day. It was money well spent!

THey can also "reset" your Mickey in the parks. Take him to any store that sells a PM and they can get him back on track if you are having trouble with him. We had trouble with ours vibrating nonstop one day. We took him in to a gift shop, they held his nose to their computer pad thingie (technical term, of course!) and he was right as rain after that! ................P

I think the constant pushing is the issue. Step away from the toy. Come back in a few minutes and try again. It takes a 10 second break between pushing to get something new. Also if the batteries are old that will impact his response.

How much were they at the outlet? We bought one the first year they came out and have taken him back to the parks. This year we are taking two grandsons and thought it would be nice if each had their own.

I bought mine before Christmas for $28.00 or so + shipping. I read somewhere that they were all out;however, keep an eye on the DIS board because Disney is updating Mickey this year and my guess is they will be getting rid of the rest of the older version prior to the new release.

We bought our's last September and had a blast. When we brought him home though, he got "stuck" on a joke. Right in the middle of the Buzz Lightyear one. We weren't too worried about it though. Before we went back down in December, we changed his batteries and he worked fine after that...

We really enjoyed it, although it is very repetitve!! We will have a couple of newbies on our upcoming trip so we will let them listen to hime for awhile!

I am the proud owner of 2 Pal Mickeys and I love them. The only problem I have is they have come out with a new one this year. I heard you may be able to buy clothing for the new ones. I know if you buy one and show your AP you get a free AP shirt for him! How do I justify buying a new one when I already have 2 and only one grandson??? DH just doesn't understand these things. lol
