Where are the sellers of the cheap tickets on ebay getting their tickets? I assume from a convention or hotel or something. Does any one know? Or, is this a taboo subject? Just wondering :rolleyes1

Maybe they bought them but aren't able to use them so they are trying to get there $$ back. It's not a taboo subject but I think the general consensus on disboards is to NOT buy them on eBay b/c you can't tell if it actually has days on it.

Never, ever buy tickets off eBay. I don't care if the guy has thousands of feedback - it's not a good idea, and much of the time tickets go for more than or at least close to what they are actually worth making it not worth the risk.

It's just not safe - what if they guy got a batch of bad tickets and sends you them by mistake? What if he decides to go out of business and ends up intentionally sending bad tickets, not caring about bad feedback since he's not selling anymore?

There are just too many "what if's" - and I know that unless I was going solo and didn't care, I wouldn't want to be at the gates of the happiest place on earth and sent away becuase I had a bad ticket. I can't imagine how it would feel for that to happen to a family - especially since they may not have the hundreds, or even thousands, or dollars to replace them on the spot.

eBay = good for tangible goods, eBay = bad for services and tickets

In any case, it's illegal to resell themepark tickets, and with Disney's new signature and bio-metrics hopefully the eBay market will die as the "old" tickets phase out.

I bought mine off of ebay, and she told me she gets them from a friend who works for Disney... They came to me in my name to my address direct from Disney, and I spoke to another person who won an auction at the same time as me and she has used hers already, so I don't think I'll have a problem using mine. I also got a pretty good deal, although not as good as she got! ;) I don't know that I would buy from ebay again, but I am ok with this purchase, I did my research beforehand and knew exactly what I was buying, and if they don't work, I'll have paypal to back me up.

You have to be very careful. I personally wouldn't buy them from ebay. If you don't know anything about Disney than you could really get in trouble. I even saw some MYW USED tickets being sold with bids. :sad2: So someone is going to get upset about this when they get to the gate and their fingerscans doesn't match.

Its really Russian Roullette to buy tickets on ebay. For what you save, why take the risk of ruining your vacation?

We bought tickets off ebay about three years ago. Got to the park and they were used. :( Imagine the horror of realizing you just spent hundreds of dollars on worthless pieces of paper. :sad2: Luckily we could afford to buy more tickets, and when we got home Capitol One covered the transaction (since I used my Capitol One card through Paypal to pay) and the guy who sold them to us got suspended from ebay.

It's VERY VERY risky. I'll never do it again.
