Hi all, I know many of you use Ebay commonly. Can anyone explain to me what Squaretrade is? The won't let me post my vacation rental without a squaretrade id. Why do I have to pay for this?

I am a member of square trade, not familiar with all the rules with ebay, but if I want to sell travel packages on ebay in a travel category, I have to be a member of squaretrade and a verified seller of travel. There is a monthly fee involved.


All of the current rental listigs that I looked at are all Square Trade verified.

I have been a Square Trade member for many years. I am also Travel Verified so I can rent out my vacation ownerships. As long as you do not list more than one a month you do not have to be Squre Trade Travel verified. If you want to list more than one a month you need to be Travel Verified. The cost to be a Squre Trade member is $7.50 per month. There is a one time charge of $10.00 (I think) to add the Travel verified. If you don't want to become verified you can always list your rental in the "Everything Else" part of Ebay.

By being Square Trade Travel verified it show bidders that you actually own what you are renting. You need to provide proof to Square Trade that you are the owner.
