Ebay Refund Question ?

I ordered an item on Ebay that I was informed today will not be mailed to me until much later. The seller has asked if I would like a refund. I am going to tell them that I do need a refund, because I can not use the item much later as it was a gift.

Can you guys tell me how I get my refund? How do I make sure that I am refunded? Do I get a confirmation?

I payed via PayPal.

They will just pay you back through Paypal --- so you will get an email from Paypal.

The previous poster is correct. It'll go directly back to where the funds came from through Paypal (if from Paypal balance it'll go there, if from bank account it'll go there, if from Credit Card it'll go there). You'll get an e-mail as well as you'll see it in your Paypal account transaction history.

Thanks guys. So I don't have to ask for a receipt from the seller? Do you know about how long the refund typically takes? I know when I purchased the item it went through right away.

You don't need to ask for anything, it will be viewable on your Paypal account. Refunds generally take a day or two IME.

You will recieve an email notification from paypal but I wanted to say I just had to file a dispute and I paid w/ my cc on paypal and it went directly back to it. I have also paid through my checking account and it didn't go back into my checking account it went into my paypal account.
