Ebay Question

I have seen several items that I might be interested in bidding on but there isn't any shipping price. It says to contact the seller and I have done that but have never received an answer. I don't want to bid on something and then find out that they're charging way to much for shipping.

I wouldn't bid on something unless I knew the exact shipping cost to me. You're stuck once you bid and the seller can charge just about anything they want in shipping and handling. Also, if the seller doesn't bother to answer your email then how can you expect them to send out the item promptly?

I wouldn't bid on anything without knowing the shipping charges up front.
Unless they email you back and let you know I think it's better safe than sorry. I wouldn't bid.

I agree with the above posts. I wouldn't bid unless the seller contacts you with a shipping price. Some sellers (unfortunatley) overcharge for shipping and pocket the money for themselves. Look for other eBay items from sellers who have the shipping costs clearly listed.

How long has it been since you emailed them? When does the auction end?

Rememeber that not everyone is on their computers as a lot of us are. So you have to be patient when waiting for a reply. Especially with this being a holiday weekend for many.

I've also noticed that when I include my zip code so the seller knows where it'll ship to I get a response faster because they can answer, if you didn't already do that. But like everyone else has said, I definitely wouldn't bid without an answer.

Another "me too"--I would never bid without knowing the shipping price. That said, I always include my zip code when I inquire and I always receive answers.

When I e-mail I always ask what are the shipping charges to Chicago.
The bidding is already finished on what I was looking at and with no responses I just let them go. I just don't understand why they're doing that now. I've seen several auctions like that and it seems like they're just losing bidders with no posted shipping charges.:cool1:

I don't understand why some sellers do that either, if they want to do exact shipping to that location they can always use the "calculate shipping" option. I usually won't bid on something where you have to email for shipping. Does anyone know why some people list that way? I'm really curious.
